You should know better than to ask this in a public forum. It is ******* to increase the power on a CB radio. Try searching Google for that.

There may be a button on the headset that will un-mute it, try holding the button down while wearing it, it may announce un-muted.

Many police have gone to encrypted radio, so you may not be able to get that on most cheap scanners. even much more expensive scanners won't do it without a modification, but that is not legal to do that.

Try using the manual if you can't see any button that say time, or menu on it. That radio is subject to a lot of complaints, that is what you get when you shop for cheap electronics. Some buttons have to be held down for a few seconds to get into a hidden feature, like setting the time.

You might have to reset it, that is if it paired before with the same device. Know that Blue Tooth has different versions and some don't work with other versions of bluetooth. But your post sounds like it worked before you reset it, so it may just be that easy.

Connect the headset to the charger as if you were charging it, but keep one side in your ear. Once connected to the charger, hold down the power button. It'll beep a few times and then stop. Your antenna should not make any difference with power or receiving. Is the scanner mobile or in a room? Hard to imagine the connector being broken. You could test the antenna or even the BNC connector on the scanner. Try another antenna. If you wiggle it, does it start receiving? You may have a short in the BNC to the receiver. Other than that, look to power issues.

Radio frequencies are different from country to country. NZ will use different frequencies than Canada. Canada and the USA have agreements in place because they border each other on what freq. is used for what. NZ likely has its own list. Your radio is not programmable to NZ frequencies. Sorry!

It sound like your power supply is not providing enough output for the radio. Are you by chance using a wall wart for power? You need a dedicated 12 volt power supply, made by Astron, QJE, or Pyramid.

you may have a bad squelch pot on the radio. try turning it fully in one direction an back in the other direction. it also could be that the Pot is dirty get some contact cleaner and open up the radio and squirt a very little cleaner into the open spot of the Pot. then rotate the know several times. if you do not have something like CRC QD Contact Cleaner you can get it in a good hardwood store like ACE or TrueValue, and even Home Depot. you can use only 91-99% Electronic Grade Isopropyl Alcohol, do not use the 70% Isopropyl Alcohol.

you may have a broken wire in the radio itself? or there is a wire broken inside the mike itself not just the connector.

you need to program the correct frequency. the Marine Channel 63A is 156.175Mhz. they also maybe using a PL Tone or a CTCSS tone, you have to find out what it is. using the Chirp Programing software you can do that. but remember sometimes a Cities use a non standard CTCSS tone so you can only hear each other
