Comp. wont boot windows or stay on how do i fix?
What exactly happens when you press the power button to turn it on?Remove the Power Cord, Open the Case and remove one of thememory chips. Set the chip aside then try rebooting the computer. If it boots, then you know the memory chip you set aside is bad so mark an x onit with an ink pen. If it fails to boot then move the chip to the nextmemory slot and try rebooting. If it fails take the chip out and set itaside, then put the other chip in and try booting it in both slots. If itboots, just to verify that the chip set aside is bad, mark an x on it and putit into the open memory chip slot and try booting.

My averatec will not turn on
Open it again and make sure you connect all the devices and such ..It seam to be like a clear case of a disconnected cable ..If the system boot up ..and seam to run ..try to see if the vga secondary monitor brings anything to a screen ..if it does it means you messed up with the monitor connections ..cause you changed the hard disk ..you don't have a operation system to boot into and try to make an idea..but its a start ..Other things to check is the fan connections and cables ..If the screen is totally blank I think is like I said just a bad connection to the monitor or a damaged cable in the process of opening it .In any other case you would have at least a warning on screen even without hard disk it should boot to BIOS ..

I have a aver tech
There are no special drivers - the unit (when it has a disk in it - it won't be recognized without it) will be recognized as a generic Removable Media and will use the generic driver.

Laptop quit operating
Will not turn
Hi,
According to your problem, first check the charger that
got the power and the electric outlet also. Remove the battery and after some
time reinstall it. You may have to replace the battery of the laptop.
It may occur for another problem also. You don't have say
the exact model of your laptop. Don't worry just open the back panel and check
all connection of the main board. Open the RAM from ram slot make it clean by an
eraser and reinstall it as same in slot. Check the hard disk cables and try replacing
it. According to your definition I think the laptop got the power. So check all
those things and then again connect the laptop with power and make it charged. After
that turn the laptop on and try to boot in bios setup. If you got success the
recover the laptop if need. You should have recovery key or disk with your
laptop.

Computer promptong either boot menu
Sounds like you need to adjust your Bios, clock settings, choose the bios menu, and navigate to the general tab and change the time to the correct, it if does not keep time in the bios, then you must replace the CMOS battery on the mother board, you can usually find them at Best buy for about 5 buck.

I have an Averatec 4100
You don't say if the system will still boot up, or if the Hard Drive is still intact or what happened that you want to restore to the factory settings.
If the hard drive is still OK, you may be able to restore the original software by pressing f4 repeatedly on a power up reboot, before the Windows system starts loading (a 3200 uses f4 on boot-up to access a hidden partition (D:?) on the hard drive which may contain the original system files and applications. The 4100 may not be the same.)
If you have modified the drivers, you may be able to restore the original drivers by going to "My Computer" icon on the desktop, and right clicking to open the "system devices" menu. There, you can open "properties" for any devices (hardware) that you may have changed, and try to restore to the previous driver.
If you need new (original) drivers, you may download them from:
http://www.trigem.com/us/support/drivers.asp
The user manual for your system is available at:
http://www.retrevo.com/d/ds/progress?doc=620637ea9665f6ec226b353b2ed6df5e&rk=0.5734748288133472
Other options, such as a recovery CD is available for a small fee at:
http://www.user-guides.co.uk/cddownload/Averatec/Averatec4100/Averatec-4100-Data-Recovery-Boot-Disk-CD-For-Windows-98-548371.html (you have to follow the instructions to download a .iso image file, and burn it to a CD, which may be a challenge for you if you have not done that before).
If these options don't work, or you need help, provide some more information on what happened to your laptop and what is not factory any longer.

I put a dvd on
The only thing to do there if you have tried everything to get it out..is to remove the disc drive and take it apart...
but this is a strange 1...i,ve never worked on a computer where,s it,s swallowed up the disc...only if the disc drive is stuck in the closed position.....
Or remove the disc drive, give it a gentle taop on the top...then near the bottom of the opening you should see a small hole to put a pin in it ,to manually open the drive...try that a couple of time rarther than opening the drive up...
Hope this help...if it does then please rate it and if i can be anymore help..
Regards

I have the averatec N3400
Install a webcam software in your computer - there are several - use Google to search. Check with the Averatec website if they have one for your webcam to download and install. Also, you can access the webcam through the Control Panel with Window's generic application.
