My kobo reader is asking for a password to log into the Wi Fi network re actiontec965. Where do i find this password

many times the default security key will be on a sticker on the router, it might say "wep key" or "wpa2 key" and it will be 10 or 16 characters long. if you don't find it or it doesn't work then you can do a factory reset on the router (hold reset button down for 12 seconds on the back of the router) and then log into the router settings by typing 192.168.1.1 into your web browser to get to the router log in page and you can find the wireless security key in there.

not possible. You want to add printer to router.

I'm trying to turn on

According to the generic version of the manual for your router (Because you did not say which broadband ISP you were using) the DHCP server is on by default in the router, so unless you turned it off it should be on and trying ti pass out IP addresses

My Xbox360 sometimes has problems dropping its connection because I use Wi-Fi. If you can use a wired connection that would be much better.

If you did change the DHCP server settings and turned it off, you will have to setup the Xbox by manually assigning an IP address, Subnet mask (usually 255.255.255.0) and the default gateway (Also displayed as GW).

The only other setting you would need to add to the Xbox360 is the DNS server but you should set that to the same IP address you used for the default gateway.

Hope that helps.

I have an GT704-WG Rev

Turn the Verizon router off.
Turn the ActionTec router off.
Turn the Verizon router on, and wait until its pattern of lights settles-down to a steady pattern, i.e., fully rebooted.
Turn the ActionTec router on.
Turn the ActionTec router on, and wait until its pattern of lights settles-down to a steady pattern, i.e., fully rebooted.
Use an Ethernet cable to connect from one of the LAN ports on the ActionTec router to the network port on your iMac.
You should now have Internet access.

The next step is to start Safari on the Mac, and connect to the web-server "inside" the ActionTec router, e.g., try http://192.168.0.1 and http://192.168.1.1 and http://192.168.2.1

Login to the router, and run the Wireless Networking Setup Wizard, to configure the wireless adapter:
* SSID -- the name of your network
* encryption-level, e.g., use 'WPA' or 'WPA2'
* password for your SSID

Once you've done this, any of your wireless devices should be able to connect to that SSID, and gain Internet access.

I can not access my

OK let me clear port forwarding for you, your router normaly has a firewall (to block of any requests from the internet to exploit any services trough any ports) so if you want access to a resource on the LAN side (side of the router where all the devices and computers are pluged) from the WAN side (side where the ISP's modem is connected for internet) you have to open a port or multiple ports to a specific device IP address (according to device manual).

for exemple:
assuming that the camera has an IP of 192.168.1.110 and it uses port 7777 for resources, in the port forwarding section of the router you ave to open port 7777 and direct it to 192.168.1.110 (save settings and VOILA)

enjoy!

What is my router username amd password?

Unless the password has been changed from its default settings it is:
username: admin
password: password

If that doesn't work you will have to reset the router back to defaults. Instructions on that can be located here:

AFRAID OF SOMEONE IS LOOKING MY COMPUTER

Very, very highly unlikely. It doesn't work like that.
Netgear is probably the manufacturer of your wireless card, and the rubbish software they give you is freaking you out.

How to change channel

Log in to your router. Select Wireless Setting then Basic Security Settings. Item #3 is the channel. Select the channel you want, then select Apply at the bottom of the page, et voila, you'll have your new channel. Good luck getting a better S/N ratio.
