First it's best to find out the motherboard manufacturer, once you do this, go to the manufacturers website, enter the mother board model, and version number, then download and install the correct dound card drivers.Please note sometimes third parties such as Dell, etc. will change the motherboard number in the bios, so you'll have to be careful, the best way to discover the motherboard manufacturer, is to look for the manufacturer number on the board itself, and then go from there.

It's strange, Intel's site doesn't list a D845GVSRL. The farthest you can find is D845GVSR. I'm not sure if this is the same thing, or not. I do find other, third party sites, that mention the SRL. Here's a link to what I could find from Intel directly. You'll need to select the Operating system from the drop down list, then find the Video Drivers link on the list.

When clicking the link it will ask you to save or run. I would save it to the My Documents folder, then double click the file when it finishes downloaidng. After that, follow the instructions.

Have you install the sound card driver? sometime it came with your motherboard cd.
Try to install it first.

If you still got no sound, i think your on board soundcard has been damage. Just buy add on sound card and plug it into your pci slot.
and off course install it driver before you try to run the sound/music program.

You can reset it through the HP recovery manager. First, turn off your laptop and restart it while pressing the F11 key.
