You are at the limits of transmission range. You can try an antenna with higher gain or try from a higher elevation. An external antenna will work much better than the supplied antenna inside a building or vehicle (air or ground). Keep in mind, a radio is only as good as its antenna.

There is normally an electrolytic capacitor on the back of the display that regulates voltage for brightness. Sometimes thy are easy to replace. Or give it to a radio engineer, or return it to Icom for repair. They would likely just replace the display module and board. It can be a few things but first try resetting your CPU, while your transceiver is off, hold down the UP & DOWN buttons simultaneously then turn the transceiver back on, now it should be reset to the factory default settings

The RX light should light up when receiving a signal. It may be your squelch setting is too high. Push the VOL knob until it enters the squelch setting, then set the squelch so it just cancels noise. If still not working you could have a wire broken in connector from headset that plugs into the radio.

The Fix Programming via CS-R6 with Windows 10 made the problem. Scanning was very slow. The CS-R6 program through Windows 10 made problems with the scanning speed - it became very slow, one frequency in 2 seconds instead of 100 frequencies in one second. Through programming CS-R6 on Windows 7, the scanning speed returned to the corresponding one in the ICOM instructions - 100 frequencies per second

Hi om sounds like you may have a break or something making that ant go haywire, have you checked all the line to see if there may be connection problem.another thing could you try the ant direct with a matcher inbetween to eliminate the auto tuner from circiut. This would narrow the fault down, have fun

AT-180 ATU is not intended for IC-7300. Icom IC-7300 have a built-in tuner already. maybe you can use a special cable or interface to use the AT-180 on IC-7300.

Look at pages 16 to 20 in the user manual. This may give you some insight as to haw this may occur. Also, A google search for this radio brings up a lot of useful info. This is a complicated radio as is indicated by the 80 page user manual. It's not one that you can pick up and use right out of the box!

Try using an external speaker and see if you have the correct volume level. Radio speakers fail often, especially when used at high volume. The simple fix is to replace the speaker. It is seldom for the audio amplifier to fail this way. Usually they work or they don't.
