Connex Cx-3600Hp 3600Hp 10 Meter 100 Watt Cb Radio - Page 5 Questions & Answers
There is no power anywhere in the cb
Check power leads inside of radio, "usually red and black" right off the leads there should be a black diode "shorts" if wires have been hooked up backwards, also check for an open foil on the printed circuit board.
I cant get my connex to come on
If no power, check the red and black wires inside the radio, there should be a black diode right is near the leads often shorts if wires are hooked up backwards, also look for an open foil on the printed circuit board.
My connex 3300 will not lock on correct frequency it either goes to 25 mhz or 28 mhz
Turn the BAND knob (under the RF power selector switch) in conjunction with the High Low selector switch to choose band A, B, C and in the other position D, E, F. A listing of frequencies that can be tuned in this manner can be found by clicking the link below:
http://hotspotcb.com/charts/freqchar33.htmlA few words of caution.. the FCC takes a very dim view of unauthorized use of frequencies. The only range of frequencies that you can legally use without an FCC issued license (in the U.S. anyway) are those in Range D. If caught transmitting on any of the other frequencies without the proper license(s) fines and imprisonment may result. No one ever expects to get caught - but plenty do. If you'd like to gain the use the 28Mhz and up frequencies, check out:

I have a Connex 3300 hp. It wont transmit and wont
It sounds like an cold solder joint if the radio has set unused for a period it could be a electrolytic capacitor. After this condition reappears preferably on the bench remove the solder side cover an gently press on the pcb board with a no conductive objected a pencil with the eraser contacting the board a low light area might reveal a spark if your luck.
Remove power from radio and turn volume know on then off.
If you are handy with a soldering iron i would use silver rosin core solder and a 35 watt max soldering iron and solder ******. Now with care tighted the pcb board screws and retouch the solder in the crystal area look around the board for corrision or dull colored solder this can but does no always indicate a cold solder joint. Just a tip dont just remelt solder add a little the rosin flux allows the solder to flow. As temped as you may be do not resolder the long ic chips they are very easily damaged by heat. Good Luck an i hope this was of help.
I have a Connex CX-3400
- If you never popped the cover (they can tell) then this should covered by the 1 year warranty. As for what happened, well you would have to pop the bottom off and look for the smoked part and get a schematic and replace the smoked parts and go from there. Anything could have happened to be honest. Most likely a resister fried like a cockroach.
- I would contact the place you got the radio from and explain what happened. Talk to them about the warranty fix. If you run into roadblock and you want to fix it yourself then put up some detailed pics of the inside of the bottom side (non soldier side) of the circuit board so I can see what smoked out on your board.
- If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here.
- Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

My connex 3300hp keeps jumping frequency.
the mixer crystal might be going bad.inside the radio look for a crystal marked 10.240 that's the.mixer crystal. you may .LTE need to replace it. some times heating it up with thetip of a soldering iron for about 10 seconds re aligns the crystal. give that a shot and see if that stops it from drifting. also make sure your clarifier is in the center.
if heating or replacing the mixer doesn't work, then it could be somethig else like, if the radio has an unlocked clarifier mod then it could have been done poorly or wrong. as well the CFO could be out of alignment.
I have a 4600 turbo,
If the radio has been modded, then it probably has a lot of audio. As well if you are using a power mic, it may be too much.
You also are probably getting some common mode current. This causes RF feed back.
Last but not least, your talk back, if you have it is probably too loud. Now I do believe you can not lower the TB in this radio. It is either on or off. If this is the case, it needs to be on a switch.
- Adjust the gain on the radio and mic to even it out.
- Have some one local listen to your audio to tell you if it is loud, too loud and over modulated, or not loud at all and make adjustments based off that, you may not need to go any more then 1/4.
- Make sure the radio is properly grounded.
- Make a 10" coil with about 6-8 wraps as close to the antenna as possible. this wills top common mode.
- Lower or turn off talk back.
- If it is still getting feed back, Hold the mic cord in the center, and close your hand around it. If the RF feed back stops, then you need to put ferrite chokes on the mic cord to stop the RF.
I need the wiring for
Hello,
Here is the wire diagram for several common mics in relation to a 4 pin CB. Most recent 4 pin CB's such as Midland, Cobra, Connex, Uniden, etc can use 4 pin mics. The wiring is actually depending on the mic rather than the CB so long as the CB's are 4 pin as well. Once you go back to late 80's the 4 pin design was a little different. Anything new it is simpler.

I have a connex 4600 turbo very good radio!! But
check for any loose power connections.. ground connections.. loose coax.. also make sure vehicle is on so not to drain battery down when TXing. if it was off it may have dropped battery voltage down lower than it should... and turned off.. RX doesn't use hardly any ampres..
Radio worked fine when bought
Do it have a relay mod for the talkback if so take that thing out. use the normal talkback. We are in TX.. no charge to check out.. I would check to make sure it has just plain normal talkback, and no other mods done first.. any other mods done??
Radio just makes whistle sound doesnt matter if
What type of power source is it hooked to? straight to car battery or some other power source? Sometimes cart alternator noise is picked up by radios. Try hooking the power source up differently
I have a telex turner 56 handheld mic. the cord
if it pulled them off the switch you may need a new cord ?? or just get a new on they only $38.99.. well thats what we selll them for... most replacement mic cables are $14.. they someone installing.. $5... theres $20 easy.. pin 1 ground
pin 2 audio, pin 3 tx, pin 4 rx..
I need the schematics to
go to cb tricks.com. I just looked there it did not have the schematic for that radio. You can go to the galaxy radios and find the one you want.
