When you pair the speaker to the phone the Operating system on the phone becomes aware of the Bluetooth device. An APP is needed to transmit the music over the bluetooth to the speaker. The documentation that came with the speakers should have information of where to get the APP.

Depends on the size of battery and extent it has to be recharged along with the charge rate of charger. As a rule of thumb a slow charge is always kinder to the battery than a quick charge. Check your manual.
