Is the usb chord the charger and what you use to download

Yes the chord is the charging cable and the download/upload cable.
You will plug it into the usb port on your computer for charging.
You will need Windows Media Player installed in your computer ...after it is installed add your songs to Windows Media Player, then plug your Mp3 player in with Windowns Media Player running, your mp3 player will be recognized and then you can add the songs you added to Windows Media Player.

Windows is but one. and comes in XP,VISTA,W7/w8/w8.1 and w10 (8versions of 10, v1903 is now)
the BT must showup in the device manager, what ever dongle you bought IDK, and the PC must be internet connected so the poor thing can actually use Plug and PLAY.
then when that works you must force BT scan. doing the Pair steps stated in your speaker manual BT

It could be the format of the player not compatible with the source of your music. Check the settings of your computer and MP3 player. For example are they both Fat 32 or something on those lines?

How long to charge the battery
Depends on the size of battery and extent it has to be recharged along with the charge rate of charger. As a rule of thumb a slow charge is always kinder to the battery than a quick charge.

Ok. So here how it's goes..Your device have a power bio detector so it decide whether it will transfer data or just charge. I you can't connect it, Probably because you didn't charge for long enough or the charger power was too low so it cannot make decision on witch task to do.
