you need to clean the burners and the fire tubes, remove all carbon deposits.running the unit on low gas pressure results in carbon build up on burners and fire tubes.

Drain valve leaking,do i need

It depends on where it is leaking. If the oil is coming out around the threads where the valve screws onto the fryer, you can remove it and put teflon tape on the threads on the fryer and then put the valve back on tightly. If it is dripping through the valve when it is closed, you need to replace the valve. The only thing you need to match up is that it has the same threads and that it is a high temperature valve. Most Pitco fryers use inch and a half pipe threads. Pipe threads are weird, inch and a half pipe actually measures 1.9 inches outside to outside of the threads. The temperature range is up to 500 degrees F. Check with your nearest restaurant supply company. They can order you a new valve if that is what you need.

The pilot lite will not

Hi, I believe the thermocouple needs replaced. Sounds like it is a millivolt thermocouple and produces voltage to open the gas valve. Good luck.

Take care

Pitco rtg 14 gas pilot goes out

Sounds to me the thermopile (thermocouple) is at fault, it's a safety device to detect if the pilot flame is alight or not. If the pilot should go out for any reason, the thermopile will detect this & shutdown the gas valve (ie the unit will cease to operate).
A new thermopile should solve your problem. It's not a task I would attempt yourself if you are in any doubt.

It heats to 550 no matter wat

Replace the thermostat. If it's really getting to 550F without shutting off the pilot and main burner, or the electric in an electric fryer, by tripping the high limit, replace the high limit as well. The high limit should shut off all the gas or electric at about 425F.

What type brushes do you use to clean pitco gas

Cleaning the frypot or the inside of the burner tubes themselves ? The frypot can be cleaned using a RED scrub pad. You can get a boiler tube brush & extension set from United Refrigeration for about $20. You need the brass brush end that screws on the 36 inch t-handle extension.

Fryer not turning off and overheating oil.

That can happen either because of a faulty thermostat, a faulty electronic control, or because of a contact in thermostat wiring. A defective gas valve would be quite unusual.

Hi there, try here and check your state, and pick a company close to you, they will either have the part you need, or can get it relatively quickly.

You could have a bad t'stat. If you turn your t'stat to say 400 degrees does it get hotter ? If so, then all it may need is calibrating.
