It means it has an internal fault. if still under warranty period, just call APC and ask for replacement. if it out of warranty bring it to service center or better if you have to buy a new one because as far as i am concerned repair cost of this unit is much expensive than a new unit

ups with 300 watts can only back up 1 computer, though it can handle 2 computers but not too long. your ups battery life span are good only for 2 to 3 years. for battery replacement you can visit the nearest service center and ask for battery replacement. it will not cost you much.

You may have a battery problem.
Re-chargeable batteries require continual use and do not work after a long period on non use.

I found cooling fan was seized, causing overlheat, and loud whistle. WD 40 eased up the bearings, but I expect I will eventually have to change the fan. Mine is an APC XS900.

I'm not sure but it is worth a try. Hold the power button down until the unit starts to work stably. I have tried this and it has worked before. Also make sure your printer is not attached to the battery back up.
Only your monitor and CPU should be on the Battery Back up Section. All other accessories should be on the other outlets. I have tried holding the button down on a friends, and it worked for a longer period.
It may need a new battery, or to be replaced because of the faulty switch.

check the battery voltage. if it is bellow 11v this problem can occur. apc ups starts from its battery and then only it gos to mains supply. if ur battery is deeply discharged it will not power on. in this case u have to pullout the battery from ups and charge it using battery charger. if not works replace the battery.

You may have too many amps for the batter to handle. Try plugging into the surge protection side for your larger devices.
