hi Cavschick104. this is all i could find out. COMPLETELY uninstall the printer and reinstall it..... It may have occurred if you have your printer connected during the installation of XP.... it is normal practice to keep the printer disconnected during an upgrade or clean install.... and then correctly install it afterwards. This from the Lexmark site: Remove the USB cord and the power cord from the back of the printer, and then remove the USB cord from the back of the computer. Uninstall the printer/scanner software from the Program menu and restart the system. Check the part number on the setup CD. If it is not P/N 13H0350, you need to download the XP driver from the Lexmark web site, www.lexmark.com. When the PC has restarted, log in as an administrator and insert the setup CD into the CD-ROM drive Click OK and Install now. Follow the setup instructions to install the scanner software. When you see Connect the USB Cable to the printer on the screen, first attach the power cord to the printer, then attach the USB cord to the printer, and finally attach the USB cord to the computer. I will need to know what procedures you have already followed. For example:

Have you turned the printer off at the power source and then turned back on again?

Have you opened the print queue in windows and cancelled any spooled files?

Has the printer worked correctly previously and now has this problem, or is this the first time you are using it?

Please provide as much information as you can so that I can help.

The error has something to do with the cartridge. To clear the error, try this:

1) Remove the power cable for 2 minutes and the USB cable from behind the printer.
2) Press and hold down the stop clear button and reconnect the power cable back to printer.
3) The printer LCD screen should clear the memory error.
4) If the same error message persist on the LCD screen, please follow the instructions below.
5) Unplug the power cable for 2 minutes and USB cables from behind the printer and open the printer cover and remove both ink carts.
6) Repeat step 2 and Install both cartridges then the screen will display Cartridge's clean, press start.

Hi, try carry out maintenance check on the printer, enter main settings on the printer, scroll down to maintenance and select the clean cartridge option, after the cleaning has finished, you can equally align the cartridges by carry out alignment of the printer.

If this still persist, you might need to change the cartridge.
