Hi. That's quite a problem you have there. Have your attention first on the power supply. It does get hot but it's unusual if it gets very hot. Take out the power supply (the black box behind the printer where the power cord is attached). Check the power specifications. Most of the Lexmark power supply has input ranging from 120-240 Volts and an output of 30 Volts. Make sure you're plugging it in the right voltage range. Check if you're using power surge protectors or power strip, disconnect it and plug directly into a properly grounded wall outlet. Power surge protectors can also draw power away from the printer. When everything's well, try printing again. Hope this helps.

Unfortunately, this all-in-one printer is not supported by Lexmark under Win7. As a printer only, it should work with Win7 (according to the Win7 Compatability Center) as a plug-and-play printer using the Win7 built-in drivers. However, you probably will lose the scan functions. Connect the USB cable and see what happens.

If you need the all-in-one to function completely, there is an option with Win7 Pro or Ultimate (if your computer supports virtualization). Download and install the two programs that create the XP mode from Microsoft. Install the program using the XP software/driver from Lexmark (long URL).

You may need to save files to external media to share them between the two "computers".

is the printer "online" - pending means printer is installed but not actively available. Check all the obvious things, like powered up, paper, usb plugged in.
In control panel go to printers and make sure X75 is set as default printer and is online.

If available they will be on www.lexmark.com support , download

You must have the phone line connected to printer. The line was have tone. (check with phone to make sure)

You may not see a paper jam.

This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.
And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

Yes if it been standing a long time it can dried out,

Some times it needs a good clean up but this is up to you if you want to do this I put down here. But after you don this prime the printer so it gets the inks back in the heads, it may take a little time for the inks to work.

Ok it got to be the heads blockage
There is fluid cleaner for this but I can never find any in the shops the only ones I seen is when they sell them in Tesco but they come in with the ink refill bottles so I just use worm water by it self on a cloth and dabbing on the heads to clean them, it will not harm the heads but not to much water.

Some heads are on the inks them self but some have them inside the printer so I not know your printer so if the heads are inside you need to get them out you may find that some heads will just clip out put some need to be unscrewed so you got to know how they come out so be careful and not push to hard on them, if the heads are on the ink then it is a easy job to clean them,
It worth a try it worked for me more than ones.

lol this is almost as simple as possible there should be a way to open the top of the printer up, like a handle or even try to pull up around the seem of the middle, then you will see ink cartridges then just pull them out and put then new ones in

Do you mean like a Photo Copier? If it has this "Function" Well in that case Yes, My Brother does. Can't see any reason why not?

have you tried the lexmark web site for the drivers there you should be able to search for the printer drivers and download them to pc.

You will have to check on the lexmark web site to see if have written updated drivers for windows 7, you could also check the microsoft site for updated printer drivers for that pertiacular model.

Gave up on you folks because I do not use credit cards and that seems to be required before I'm allowed to ask for assistance.

Sorry , no driver available. Actually your printer didn't had a driver even for Vista so the chances of getting one for 7 are zero.

Unfortunately with the X75, a ‘flashing’ Status LED indicates one of two conditions:

1. The unit is out of paper (or thinks that it is out of paper)
2. A problem in another area (I know, not very helpful, but that is straight from the X75 User’s Guide)

I did find a reasonable Trouble Shooting guide in the X75 User Guide and not wanting to plagiarize the Lexmark document, I found two URLs that point to the actual document:

As this unit was recently relocated, the method in which it was relocated could help explain where the problem may be.

• If the unit was carried by hand and carefully, then there could be a seating problem or loose hardware inside the unit enclosure.
• If the unit was shipped by a mover (meaning it was packed and boxed) then the problem could be a broken paper tray sensor, a misalignment of the print cartridges, a misalignment in the print cartridge belt, or something related to the ‘print cartridge position sensors’

Something to consider is that just because there is paper in the unit, does not mean that the sensor logic is functioning properly to report this condition.
