If you are unable to run it off the DVD, head to the Lexmark website: http://support.lexmark.com/index?page=productSelection&locale=EN&userlocale=EN_US
In the search bar type in X75 when download the driver for your printer. You won't need the disc to do this.

A piece of paper or something traps the paper path then remove it or sometimes it happens when using a thin paper or substance 16 of bond paper, use only substance 20 or 24. Goodluck

Neither the Lexmark X74 or Lexmark X75 is supported for Windows 7. See the Windows 7 Information posted on the Lexmark site under Top Articles here.

Sorry this will not help resolve your issue but you will not be able to make these printers function under Windows 7.

Solution What you will see

The printer will not respond despite the fact that you can confirm the printer communicates on the network.

You have also confirmed the following:

• You can access the printer's web page.
• The network printer object is present.
• The printer is set as the default printer.
• The printer is not paused.
• The network printer port appears.
• You have a green Wi-Fi light.
• Your Firewall application has allowed or created exceptions for necessary Lexmark processes.

Suggested remedy

Verify that Lexmark services are running.

Please let me with more details about your printer's problem. It's not possible to help you without knowing the details and the condition of the machine. I hope at least it has a problem with it, not just a "dead" machine.

If the cartridge carrier won't automatically move to its loading position even when the printer is on and the cover is open, just unplug the printer from the power source. With the cover open, hold the solid white strip and gently slide the cartridge carrier to the center of the printer. Remove the used cartridges. Load the new cartridges. Close the cover. Plug the printer back to the power source.

sounds like a possible bad printer driver install. can you reinstall the drivers or try a different usb port?

I am assuming you have Windows 7 with your new laptop? Windows 7 should have the native driver for it. Have you tried plugging the printer into your laptop?

I have checked with Microsoft Windows 7 Compatibility & Lexmark websites & they both said that the driver is not compatible with Windows 7. I dont know if Lexmark will release a driver for windows7.

As far as scanning if it is scanning just in black and white, I would go to start>programs>accessories>scanner and camera wizard. Follow the on screen guide/steps and scan in color. you can select what to name the files and where to save it to. As far as transferring to another computer that is another problem in itself. It depends on if these are networked or not. The easiest way is to either use megaupload.com or e-mail the scanned images to yourself, and then download them on the other computer.

I had that same Problem. I need the Power Cord, and Power Supply, that came with it. I called Lexmark, told them what I needed, and I receivec it, within two days.

I also needed the USB Cable, that connects to the computer. I found that at "Amazon.com." very cheap.
