Hi.

Download the driver, based on ur OS.

For Windows XP -- Click-> Download Driver

1.For Xp after u click on "Download Driver" u will get a page where u have to type the verification which is displayed in the page, then click download.

For Windows 9x/NT/200 --Click-> Download Driver

For 9x/NT/2000 , just click on "Download Driver" you will get the files.

Go to "Lexmark solution center", then go to maintenance, then "install new cartridges".Check "No, this is new" option on cartridges and ink level will reset.

Please visit the Lexmark website to download and install the Lexmark Z605 Printer Driver on your computer. Select your operating system, download and execute the file. Follow the instructions on your computer screen.

Try downloading the Vista driver. Make sure that you select the 32- or 64-bit version, as needed, from http://support.lexmark.com/index?locale=EN&page=product&userlocale=EN_US&productCode=LEXMARK_Z605&focusedTab=DOWNLOADS#4 . Click on filter to get the correct file. To check the version of Windows that you have, click Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System. If you see x64 after the OS version name, get the 64-bit driver. Otherwise you need the 32-bit driver.

Make sure to disconnect the data cable between the computer and the printer, if you have connected it. Uninstall any problem driver (generic from the Windows OS or a failed Lexmark driver install) before installing the new driver.

If you still have problems, uninstall the driver again. Then use the compatibility mode. Right click on the exe file that you downloaded from Lexmark and choose Properties. Under the Compatibility tab, check the box for "Run this program in the compatibility mode" and select Vista. Then right click again and choose "Run as Administrator".

Navigate to the Windows control panel and double click printers and faxes.

The right click on your printer and select properties.
On the box that came up you will see a button that says Print a Test page!
It is found on the bottom right of the box in Windows Xp.

Behind the Lexmark Z605 printer, the power supply (rectangular black box) goes into the power supply connector/slot. Refer to the image below.



The power cord then plugs into the power supply from your power outlet in the wall.

The ink has probably gelled (become solid) in the nozzle. You can try cleaning the print head and cartridges manually. Remove the cartridges from the unit and wipe with a damp paper towel (dampen with water). With the bar code facing you, wipe the bottom of the cartridge horizontally, moving the towel only from left to right. This is where the ink comes out. Continue until it looks clean. Then dab the cartridge on the towel to see if ink comes out.

With a damp cotton swab, also clean the bottom of the shiny piece of metal underneath the contacts at the back of the carrier where the cartridge fits into the printer. This may take multiple swabs.

Reinstall the cartridges and follow the usual procedures. If the cartridge didn't come clean with wiping, you can build a declogging tool with a syringe (no needle) and a very narrow diameter piece of tubing. Cut a short length, place the tubing against the holes in the cartridge nozzle and pull back on the plunger. (This has to be done carefully to avoid damaging the print head.) Look online for information on the syringe and tubing size - it will depend a bit on the cartridge hole size.

Final option - new cartridge.

Hi there
Yes it will not work needs the 2 inks in it to work.

If you have not used your printer for a while the phe ink cartridges can dry out, or you have run out of ink. You may need to install new cartidges, you could try cleaning the print heads wich is done with a button on the control panel or from your PC.
