i applogise if you have already checked, but this happens when A5 paper is selected automatically, especially in office 2007, you could be using A4 paper

You could try the Lexmark website as I know they are updating a lot of the drivers at the moment. Just a thought try using the XP driver.

download the driver for your operating system (xp, etc) and install.

make sure there is no pending document in the printer, go to printers and faxes and right click on the icon that you want to delete, click on cancel all documents on the drop down menu and then if you see use printer online click on that as well, if that doesnt help. Click on start, then click on run, on the open box type in services.msc then on the window that will pop up look for printer spooler, right click on it click on stop, then right click back then click on start. then close out of everything and restart computer.

After you finish the download execute it and follow the on screen instructions.

uninstall the printer, reboot your system and reinstall the printer using your software/driver cd that came with the printer.

Before you install the Z715 software. Power off the printer, open Control Panel & open Add/Remove programs. If your printer & it's software is listed, try to uninstall programs. If the uninstall fails than just run the downloaded Z715 driver & software.

You can download here from Lexmark. Just pick your operating system.

That is the most likely cause.
Also under the cartridges, there are some ports and pads that may have dried out. In that case unplug the machine, and remove the cartridges, trickle some alcohol slowly to dissolve the sticky ink in that area. Place some paper towels under the print head area as you trickle in the alcoholl and allow it to drip into those towels. Then allow some time to dry.
The cartridges and those port areas can dry out or become very tacky.

you should clean the printer head or cartriage

Take a look at the belt closely,

1- there should be grooves,sometimes these belts start to fall apart, the grooves actually start to fall off  and don't grab the printhead.

If you look inside of the printer are there any black pieces? If so say goodbye, It is almost impossible to find replacement parts.

 

2- test by moving the printhead to a different location with it off then turn on to see if it moves.

Give it a good clean right through, including the print head with an appropriate material such as isopropyl. . Disconnect it from your PC, uNINSTALL THE SOFTWARE. Do a disk clean up and a disk defragmentation procedure,. Restart the PC and reinstall the software, that should clear the fault
