Disassemble M570 trackball

You don't need to disassemble it - Under the mouse is a hole, through which you can see the trackball. Insert your pinky (little finger), or the top (eraser) of a pencil, and gently push. The ball will pop right out, and you can clean it, and the three ball-bearings on which it rolls. I do this almost every day. (yes, my hands are clean, but normal oils gum up the ball-bearings.)

Mouse ball stops responding, or responds

Send it back for repair, there is no fixing the chip in a mouse. Sometimes they don't work after one day.
So it depends on how much you paid for it depends on if its work ending back.

This is a great mouse, I only use logitech.

It does have a 5yr warranty.

Try bypassing the USB hub and plugging the receiver directly into a USB port on the computer. Sometimes devices won't recognize properly if they're going through a hub.

A small chip/divot in the ball after it was

you can buy just the ball from the company, but first contact a computer repair shop and ask if they might have one lying around, these devices go bad and they may have some. To buy the ball from the company and pay shipping may be cost prohibitive and you might be better off just replacing the complete unit. one alternative if your handy. get some epoxy (from ACE hardware or etc). make up a small amount of the paste and fill the chip., when it drys (24 hours) sand it smooth and it should work again. the stuff is very hard and I have made repairs with it before on equipment that could not find replacement parts. good luck

After months of good work my mouse stopped

Has any new piece of hardware been put in between the trackball and the receiver? Electro-magnetic fields can cause interference. I had a similar problem once - didn't even unplug the receiver, just moved it behind the monitor. It was a big clunky CRT screen and created a huge EM field - huge enough to cause interference with the trackball.

TrackMan Wheel Trackball Spring - where does it go.

it's not really a spring -- it's just a twisted piece of wire. actually, it's what makes your little scroll wheel click when you turn it. place the scrool wheel in the little plastic bracket that holds it with the longest piece of axel (hollow side of wheel) in. then TURN THE BRACKET OVER. the wire goes on the BOTTOM, which is quite counterintuitive. you'll see how it goes -- the smallest end of the wire goes INSIDE the scroll wheel and the kinda squared end of the wire goes into a little hole in the bracket. you'll understand when you look closely at it. once the wire is installed, hold it in place when you turn the bracket/ball/wire assembly over. fit the legs on the bracket into the groves on the base of the trackball -- that's the side where the ball sits and the circuit board is. make sure the scroll wheel passes through the trackball cover when putting it all back together. VOILA! problem solved.
