Actually, it's not difficult to unlock iPhone, even you can reach this aim without data loss. Just follow me to look into the below steps.
-Use iTunes
If you cannot remember your security code/password, use iTunes to unlock iPod touch.
(1). Connect your iPod touch to iPad or laptop or PC that you usually sync with.
(2). Open your iTunes and back up first. When a small window pops up and says Back Up Now,just click it and iTunes will automatically synchronize device and back up.
(3). When the back up finished, click the Restore iPod button on the upper right side of your iTunes' interface to restore factory settings.
(4). Finally press the Restore Backup button and choose the latest period of time for backup, waiting for the completion of restore backup.
(5). After that, you will see the logo of Apple on the screen of your iPod when the process finishes.
-Use iCloud
(1). Open and log in iCloud on your laptop or PC that is connected with the iPod touch.
(2). Click Find My iPod and let it start to search and connect with your iPod touch APP.
(3). When iCloud is connected to the iOS device, its position will be fixed and shown on the map, then click the option at the upper right of Clear iPod and follow the next indication.
If it was caused by your phone taking a knock then you are probably after damaging the LCD screen, iphones have 2 screens, 1 is the digitizer (touch sensor) which is a see through plastic sheet attached to the front glass of your phone, the other is your LCD screen which is behind the digitizer which projects the actual picture. You buy the LCD and digitizer together for the 4s, it is not possible to replace the LCD alone so don't get caught buying just an LCD on the internet, it is a difficult repair if you are not used to repairing phones. If you plug you iphone into your computer and itunes recognises your phone it is more than likely your LCD needs replacing. Have a look at a repair video on the internet so you can see what is involved in the repair and you can decide if you think you would be able to do it yourself.
For future reference, there is an App called Find My iPhone that comes with newer models. This application uses iCloud and will let you track your phone should you lose it, by locating it on a map.
You can also play a sound at full volume, even if your phone is in silent mode; lock your device with a passcode remotely (to prevent someone from stealing your information); display a message on the lock screen so someone finding the phone can return it to you, and other helpful features.
The application comes already installed with newer phone models, but you can download it (for Free) from the iOS app store.
I hope this helps, should you lose your phone in the future.
To unlock one must do a factory reset on the phone. This will erase all data on the phone so use at ones owns discretion. You may be able to take it to an apple store and have it fixed for a price also.

This happens to me occasionally when updating. The only fix I got to work was to plug the phone into a different iTunes. Then you have the option to wipe it and update the OS. Do that. Then, plug it back into your iTunes, or the original iTunes and sync everything back to it. It is a pain, but it's the only thing that's worked all 3 times.
Make sure you are entering the password correctly. Iphones are case sensitive and may change the first letter to CAPS make sure it's correct. Try logging in from a computer to verify the account and the password. If necessary reset the password for the email for the Yahoo account using the computer and then use it on the phone once you know it's good.

Simple. Go to your settings in your phone, once you have done that, click on general. After that scroll all the way to the bottom. Click on reset. Once you have done that, click on reset all settings, and that should fix your phone :)
Restart your phone by holding down your Home Button and your Lock Button at the same time for about 10 seconds or until you see the apple logo. This will restart your phone and should resolve your problem!
