You will have to look for a board that supports S-Dram memory, because that is what your MSI K7T Turbo2 uses.

My advice would be to skip this entirely; I would replace the whole board/CPU setup, and pick up some memory. You can get an Athlon II quad core and mobo for $165.98 USD (Asus /AMD). Pick up 2 GB of Kingston DDR3 RAM for $56

Just my opinion on this-I don't think that spending the amount of cash you would have to in order to replace an obsolete board is worth it.

I have no idea why manufacturers still put these leads in the boards because they really don't serve much purpose.
I would leave it out, but if you want to plug it in look close at the motherboard near the I/O cover (rear USB's) for a black socket with 4 pins, it should be marked CD1, that's where the lead goes.

take all accessories off the motherboad (network card, memories, etc) connect just the monitor, keyboard, and mouse. it fires up. then insert one accessory at atime and see what is keep it off. then replace it.

You can run up to 1800 but it must be the AMD Athlon XP (Palomino, Socket A) up to 1800+

it sounds like the ram is acting up. easiest solution is to remove the ram make sure no dust and crap has built up on the ram and the ram sockets.
