That is most likely an amplifier driver transistor that has failed.

turn the sub upsidedown, carefully remove the clear rubber feet (these are a dome fitted over a mushroom top), using the toothed gripper cutout of a pair of pliers (when closed it is the eye shaped opening visible on one side), grip the mushroom firmly but not so hard as to crush the mushroom and gently ease clockwise and anticlockwise (the mushroom is at one end of a clear plug blocking access to the four screws that hold the two parts together. Be carefull to use the correct size screwdriver so as not to damage the screw heads as they are tight. On reassembly, you may need to use glue to replace the rubber feet if the mushroom becames damages during removal.
