I am unable to access my blitzz bwp611 router. I

The router should be accessible from the Default Gateway IP Address of your network. Examples I have found are like this:
http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Blitzz/BWA611/Command_and_Conquer_Red_Alert_Counterstrike.htm
you can check you default gateway by opening a command window (Start CMD, right click CMD on the Menu for Vista/7, Start, run cmd for XP) on the command line type IPCONFIG
This will give you your IP address, Subnet Mask and Default Gateway IP address. Type the Default Gateway IP address in to you address line of the browser, you should get a sign in prompt. Unless you changed the default settings, the username and password should be left blank. That should give you access.

Need security option

The security code is set in the wireless section of the router. You need to access the router's setup page and go to wireless. Under security you will see the encryption key which you need for your adapter.
The setup page is at 192.168.0.1. Put that in your browser.
It will open to the router's setup page.
You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now. By default the username is admin, and the password is password. Click the Ok button to log in to your router. Then go to wireless tab, then security.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Internet half works with wireless adapter

Kinda odd one this.. Have you checked properties of the wireless icon in control panel/network connections - check dns server is on auto? If so, start a dos shell, type ipconfig /all and see if the dns info is the same as the other working pc's you have.. Also when right clicking the network icon, select repair, instead of properties, that does a heap of things to correct problems..

Also, from another user on Fixya, try this..

you may have another wireless connection other than your own set as automatic, or more than one connection in your settings of the same name, so right click on your network icon in your task bar or in network connections in device manager and select view all wireless connections, click on it and when all the connections show, highlght, delete all of them, then close the window.

Your notebook should now indicate that it found new wireless connections, click on the popup and select your connection name and click connect, at this point you will be asked to enter the passkey if you have security enabled.

might help.. Rgds,

I want to secure my

Yes you can! First of all plug in a LAN cable from one of the available ports on the router into your Mac. After that, open up your browser and type 192.168.1.1
You will get a login prompt. Usually the username is admin and the password is admin but if that doesn't work always check the bottom side of your router, the details should be printed there.
If you've logged in successfully you will be in the administrative panel of your router, simply go to the Wireless settings, then go to Security. Enable it and choose your encryption method(WPA2/Personal is usually preferred but you can always try WEP) then insert a password into the according box. After that, save changes, unplug your cable and restart your router. You should need a password next time you connect to your network.
Have fun :)

Hi.

As a first thing you will need an ethernet cable to connect the PC to the router, so that you can access router control panel.

After that open Internet Explorer or any browser and type in the address bar the router address. By default the ip address should be set to 192.168.1.1, or to 192.168.1.254.
If the address does not work , ensure that the firewall is turned off, start the command prompt (DOS like black screen) by typing CMD on the Run box accessible from the Start menu located on the lower left hand side of Windows display.
In command prompt type IPCONFIG/ALL. A list of network settings will be displayed. The router IP will be the one listed as Default Gateway.

Enter the default gateway IP in the browser address bar and press enter.

A box asking user ID and password will pop up.

By default both the username and password are admin. Try entering Admin on both fields and click the Ok button to log in to the router.

If the default password had been changed you will need to reset the router to factory and to setup the broadband settings again.

After entering the ID and password, you will get the router control panel, in there access wireless settings using the bar at the left, verify or change the encryption key , and write it on paper.

Close the router panel, and go back to the PC to install wireless adapter.

On the PC install all software provided with the adapter BEFORE connecting the adapter.

Connect the wireless adapter only when prompted by software setup or after installing.

Once finished you will see the wireless network icon near to the clock.
Double click on this picture to open a list of wireless network, choose the Blitzz router network, and enter the encryption key.

I am trying to secure my blitzz wireless router so

Normally, routers come with a software wizard that will help you set up your wireless and security settings. If this is not the case, you will need to do it manually.
First, you will need the IP of the router. Sometimes it's listed on the bottom of the device, sometimes it's in the manual, sometimes both. If you still cannot find it, try searching for 'defaul ip for XXXXXXX' where x is your router's modle number.

Then, go into IE (or Firefox, Chrome, Safari etc.) and type the IP into the address bar.

It may ask you for a user name and password. Most times the user name is admin and the password is either admin or there is no password.

Search through the page for wireless security settings. When you find it, use something like WPA for your encryption method, or WEP if you don't have WPA. Then just give the router a pass key that you will remember.
Save the changes, and you're done.

I have the blitzz wireless router model bwa611 and

first, how long have you had the router? and second there should be a pin size hole on your router (somewhere near where the power goes into it at). this is your reset button. take a paper clip and put it in there until you know you have the button pushed in. hold it there for about a minute.now remove paper clip and hook back up. your router is now reset. before doing though, make sure you have all the hardware and software. i ask how old your wifi router is because after a few years the thing you paid 50-100 dollars for will go dead. i have had a couple go on me that way.
