Casio QV-R40 Digital Camera - Page 2 Questions & Answers
How to solve the message oeo1
I had this same problem years ago, couln't fix it in any way. Tried the description on http://www.oborona.net/stuff/qv-r40/eng/index.html (reloading firmware) but even that did't work.
Found my old qv-r40 today, and gave it one more try using the above mentioned solution of updating the firmware. Even though I only did again the same as a few years back (updating the camera with the same firmware), this time it worked. Got my old camera working again!
So I suggest you try the solution by oborona.net, and if it doesn't work get the batteries out and wait for a few days before trying to update the firmware again. You might be lucky like me.
My mother owned a casio camera and transfered
After you insert the disc, does it open showing you the files? If so, copy them to a folder you create on your desktop. Once there, you should be able to open them. If not, you could take the disc to Walmart and use a Kodak Picture Kiosk machine to either print them or make a new copy of the cd. The make of the camera has nothing to do with opening the pics on a computer.
When i start my casio digital camera it gives
Hello
Thank you for using FixYa for your problem
Always check the batteries first but if is it still giving the same fault, your camera is faulty.
It should be taken to an authorized repair centre for a repair estimate. Very few digital cameras have any user-serviceable parts.
Please rate our solutions and if you still have problems please call back for more ideas to help you

Card is locked
SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the slide is already in the correct position, slide it fully the other way and then back.
If that doesn't do it, try another memory card.
Camera card
There is a small switch on the side of the SD card. If it is in the down position, it prevents pictures from being taken or deleted (safety measure). Just slide the switch to the up position
Casio qv-40 card error
Is slide switch on the side of the card unlocked? Did you format the card in the camera before trying to use it?
How do I turn the flash off?
Press the button with the lightning bolt ...watch the screen for a lightning bolt with a diagonal line through it.
Won't print date on picture
Hi there.
You have to set the time and date to show on the picture using the camera's menu before you take the picture.
You cannot add the time and date to a picture after you have taken it except with photo editing software.
Go into the camera's menu and select the setup option, scroll down to imprint (or something like that) and set it to date and time, press OK or save and from now on the date and time will automatically added to your pictures when you take them.
Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!
Camera is not being recognuzed
Do not connect the camera to the computer. Buy a small card reader and use it instead to transfer pictures to the computer. It will be several times faster if you have a USB 2.2 port. The camera could only transfer at 1.1 speed, which is several times slower anyways. Then use any free photo manipulation program (e.g. Irfanview) to adjust / store the photos in albums, etc.
When I first got the camera somehow I stored
With an SD card installed, you can go in the playback menu (at the end of the list) and "copy" from memory to the SD card. Then you can remove the SD card and in the same menu, delete the pictures in memory. If you "delete" with the SD card in the camera, it will delete from the card, not the memory.
