I have difficulty keeping the battery charged

This means the battery is wearing / worn out, it happens for sure with all devices, and for some reason Palms seem to be a bit quicker about wearing them out. It can be replaced, but it is extremely difficult to do on this model. Here is a step by step guide on how to do it, but it involves the use of special tools you need to buy and basically pulling apart the palm piece by piece.

Here is the guide:

Please make sure you rate my answer 4 thumbs up, it is extremely important to me. I would be forever grateful if you could do so. If you need more help on this question please just respond to my answer here and I will get right back to you.

Thanks

My zire 72s refuses to

HELLO,

The answer to this question is yes,

What you are to do to solve this problem is to allow the zire in power for some time it will come up to charge after some time please do not allow the battery to get very low before charging in other not to damage the battery.

But if after you have allow the zire in power for longer period and the problem remain then remove the battery if possible allow it from the zire system for few period then replace it again then plug it back to the power.

Please note, if the problem remain then it means that you will have to get your zire another new battery from the store around your local area or you should go online to order it.

Thank you and thanks for using fixya.

Try to restore only DateBk.PDB. Install it onto Palm device and play with it to see if the errors re-appear.

Pin in charge hole got loose then disappeared

Unfortunately this is a common problem, it can be repaired but unless you are an electronics technician I suggest you take it to the service provider if it's still under warranty. If not there will probably be a small fee. It may not be worth the cost to repair it so you may just want to replace the unit. Good luck

No problem. Here's the link for your Zire 72. You just need to choose Windows or Mac and download and install the Hotsync Manager software.

Hi.

Events on calendar are not deleted automatically, the purge events must be used as specified on manual at page 171:Zire 72 User Guide.

Check on computer software if a copy of the events had been transferred to computer because the Zire was going out of memory.

Regarding data recovery, you can restore the old data only if you have previously done a backup , otherwise data will be lost.

My PalmOne Zire 72 no longer re-charges. I think it might be the connection on the hand held unit itself.

Its most likely caused by battery's life cycle has come to end. You may obtain a 3.7V OEM battery with same size of your original battery at least 700mA. you may replace if you wish to DIY or ask local repair tech assistance.
