If your handheld has a built in speaker, does audio come out through that? If yes then it is either a connection or your headphones. Try another set of phones. If these don't work then try twisting the jack connection around a bit. If the speakers crackle softly during this then it is an internal connection between the main PCB and the jack socket. No way to fix. If no then make sure the volume is up at MAXIMUM and ensure that the music is in MP3 format.
sounds like the digitizer is out of alignment. there are places where you can send the device that will replace the screen, or send you parts for DIY projects. Depending on the age/condition of the device, it might be better to just buy a new or used device.
You will have to do a hard reset...this will set it back to factory specs...you will loose any data that you have added to it...So be sure you absolutely cannot remember the password before you do this...
1...While holding the power button, use the tip of the stylus (or a similar object without a sharp tip) to gently press and release the reset button inside the hole on the back of your handheld. 2... Wait for the Palm Powered™ logo to appear, and then release the power button. 3... When you see the message that warns you about erasing all of the info on your handheld, do one of the following:
• Press Up on the 5-way navigator to finish the reset and show the touchscreen. • Press any other button to do a soft reset.
Hello, You need to download palm desktop and hotsync manager from the palm website. Totally free. Found at. http://www.palm.com/us/support/palmdesktop.html
yes, you can format, if you can get your card to show up as a drive on your pc through usb cable you should be able to right click the drive then choose format .. You will loose all info on the card though!!
Either that or i believe there maybe some dodgy cards being made. For example they may say they hold 4gb and show up on computers as 4gb but actually have considerably less space.
You will need to do a hard reset...this will wipe all the data on your unit, setting it back to factory specs...be sure this is what you want to do...

When you turn your Palm on, on the main page there should be a list of icons. Make sure in the upper right-hand corner All displays with an arrow pointing down.
Then, click on the World Clock icon to change the date/time for your Palm.
Hello First question is do you have a wireless router connected to your internet, and if yes, you may need to tell your router to broadcast your ssid. Instructions differ on how to do this so check the manual for the router. Hope this helps.
Well watch this video and after you follow the directions get the screen and find the glass like cover and remove it from the screen bend it in a very lightly way, then put it back on and put the PDA back together and BAM.
On your main screen touch the menu icon (bottom right in your graffiti box). This will open your drop down menu. Touch "delete" and a list of programs, etc will appear. Select one at a time and then press delete. Hope this helps
The traditional steps for resetting charging problems are: 1) press reset /while/ the power cord is plugged in 2) unplugging the battery for about 30 seconds, then plugging it back in
You have done #2, but I do not know if you have done #1. Try it, then try to recharge again. If that fails then you probably need a new battery. I have found them on eBay before.
Also, if you have a new Tungsten E2 and there is no important data, I would hard reset it and then when you sync it, select the old profile of the previous Palm to see if that works.
The new Palm you have, is it a Tungsten E2 as well?
The profiles don't always carry over between different models.
