Palm m515 Handheld Questions & Answers
The power button on my Palm M515 is flashing on
Hello.
From Palm Support:
If your M515 has been uncharged for several days, this is a normal behavior. If the device has been dormant for several days and totally drained, once you re-charge it will prompt you do a hard reset.
Oftentimes, it will directly direct you calibrate the screen and once you're done you will notice that your data is gone.
However, if it's not the case then your device could be having a hardware problem that only repair can fix.
Note that if you have backed up your M515 to your PC and you do a hard reset, you can restore your data.
But, if you have backed up your data and the same problem occurs after restore, you most likely have a hardware problem, usually not cost-effective to repair.
Hope this helps.

If I perform hotsync when
Hello
The HotSync process automatically synchronizes - that is, exchanges and updates - data between your handheld and Palm Desktop software. Changes you make on your handheld or Palm Desktop software appear in both places after a HotSync operation. HotSync technology synchronizes only the needed portions of files, thus reducing synchronization time.
So, hotsync will update the laptop/desktop from the handheld.

How to configure blackberry 8700g
You can only do this by contacting your network service provider. You'll also need to ensure that you pay for an ongoing BlackBerry data service in order to use the BlackBerry specific services on your phone.

The device is not working. No matter whatever I do
Do you see any power light indicator blinking? Did you install something, before the problem starts?
If the PDA is completely powerless, you may want to start with the battery. It would be best to bring the PDA to the dealer and see if they have a spare battery that you may use for testing.
The problem could be a power issue, but most likely, it's a software related problem.
If you're able to test it with different battery, but you get the same problem, then contact the manufacturer and have them upgrade the firmware of your PDA. And that should fix the problem.
Thank you and good luck!

Palm pilot will not stay powered up.
Sounds like it is time for a new battery. Not expensive.
Google for palm 515 battery and you should find a few places. Worth doing if you can do yourself or if you really like your 515 ;-] Labor cost on top of the battery might be the deciding factor.

How do I replace the battery.
The back of the palm are hold by 2 screws, now that you say that you have removed them, the back cover are now only hold by clips, you just have to pull the cover gently but firmly, you can use a credit card or anythig like that to remove the cover, be careful cause the battery its attached to the back cover and if you pull it too much you will broke the cables!

How do you turn on the Palm m515
the palm m515 has a button at the top right corner .. hitting the button quickly will turn the unit on or off ... holding the button for 2 seconds will turn the display backlight on or off ... if the unit fails to start then you can do a reset .. thats like a reboot .. the top of the stylus unscrews ... that gives you a little probe that you can use to push the reset button on the back top center ... if the battery is bad you can still run the machine with the charger hooked up ..

How do I dispose of a Palm m515?
its likely the battery has just gone bad .. a new battery is not expensive but you need a small torx tool to get it open .. the m515 is still a nice machine for some, so donating it to Goodwill or other charity will do a lot of good for several people .. you can just drop it off at most places.. put everything in a box so it doesnt get seperated ..

I was given a pilot m515 and i do not know
hi betty .. the m515 is a nice machine still, and worth getting to know .. the card slot is for storing extra things its not needed to run the m515 ( you can put in an SD card if you want to store a lot of stuff but the m515 has lots of memory inside already ... you can charge the battery or run the unit on the charger ... push the top right button and the unit should come to life .. if you hold the on/off button for a few seconds then it will turn on or off the display backlight .. if the unit fails to start then you can do a "reset" .. that will reboot the machine and fixes most problems.. the top of the stylus unscrews .. this gives you a small probe that can be used to reset the machine .. on the back near the top is a hole marked "reset" .. poke the probe in there to reboot the palm ... if you want to do a "hard reset" (erases all data) then hold the power button in while you poke the reset .. that will give you a choice to "erase everything" .. if you chose to do that then you would be starting the palm like it came out of the factory .. all phone numbers and such would be erased ... that should get you going .. there is a tutorial included in the palm that can get you started .. if it works on the charger but not on the battery or if the battery goes dead quickly then new batteries are not expensive but you need a really small torx tool to get the back off to change it .. you can take it with you to the hardware to match it up with one .. if the battery is ok then you should be enjoying you palm about now ..
