20 Most Recent Palm m130 Handheld Questions & Answers

You see, all that was left from the old Palm devices (had a Tungsten W myself, back in '04!) was acquired by HP, and they seem to have shrunk all informations into this page.

Really hope they might be useful to you, somehow.

Anyway, please, let me know if you need further informations.

Regards,
Carlos

Apart from blogs around the internet, the remainings from the old Palm devices (had a Tungsten W myself, back in '04!) were acquired by HP. They have shrunk all into this page, but I suppose you have already been there, right?

Anyway, I really wish you luck!

Best regards,

Hi, you can do a system restore of you pc by on the START button, then you click on HELP AND SUPPORT, then you go to SYSTEM RESTORE. When you get to system restore, you will be asked to choose a date you will like to backdate your system to, you can now choose the day before the automatic update was done and click ok. What for the system to restore and restart, then you will be able to retrieve your lost information..

Take care

There is battery indicator at the top of the screen. If the battery is charging it will have something like a lighting bold displayed on top of the battery indicator. Hope this helps.

Hi,
There is a simple fix for the problem you are having. This same thing happened to me. The first thing to do is to make sure you have the most up to date software for the desktop. Once that is done do a hard reset. Here are the directions for that:

1. Press and hold the power button.

2. While holding the power button, use the tip of the stylus ( or a similar object without a sharp tip) to gently press and release the reset button inside the hole on the back of your hand held.

3. Wait for the Palm2.gif Powered logo to appear, and then release the power button.

4. When you see the message that warns you about erasing all of the info on your hand held do one of the following:
a) Press UP on the 5 way navigator button on the bottom of your hand held to finish the reset and show the touch screen2.gif.
b) Press any other button to do a soft reset.

5. When prompted , tap to align the screen, and then set the language you want to use on your hand held. A screen appears showing the Palm logo and a progress bar. From there continue to set up your Palm and then do a hot sync. This should reset everything. Best wishes....Hope this helps.

Yes! The hard drive still has all your info! You need a computer tech to download the hard drive info for you. It's not lost.

Compatibility related to Operating system rather than computer's model. All you need to download Palm desktop software at : http://kb.palm.com/wps/portal/kb/common/article/33529_en.html

It seems software related. After back up your date perform full reset to set it to factory default. That will resolve the issue if its software related

have you fully charged the battery?
Have you tried a reset and a hard reset?

hard reset, push the power button and the reset button at the same time. (All data will be cleared)

Hope this helps.

You should be able to just by hotsyncing. The question is if your hotsync is working. My dads coworker gave us her old palm m130, as she had no use for it anymore. After my zire 72 broke, i needed a palm to fill in and here i had this ready made back up. However, i can't get the darned thing to hotsync. Ive tried hotsyncing  both with a USB port and a serial port, and on neither of them can i get a connection established. Anyone that can help will be much appreciated.

If it needs to be charged, it can take up to 3 hours to do.  While it is charging you won't see any lights on the Palm.  Only the screen being turned on will indicate the charging level with the icon.
