I have a palm treo and I bought accessories to charge it on Ebay. When I plug it into the wall charger, I can get the phone to turn on but it says there is 0% battery. The light on the treo does not come on but it does say that it is charging. Any suggestions?
Verizon 700wx:I had the same problem. With little or no movement, the phone would go from charging to not over and over. At home with it perfectly still it would charge maybe 1/4 in 6 hours. Same problem with 3 different chargers. With the battery out, I dipped a Q-tip in rubbing alcohol squeeze out excess and jammed it into the charging port on the phone. Put the battery back in and oh **** nothing. Took it back out and let it dry for a few minutes and were back in business. No more charging problems at all.
May be a little risky, but warranty was up and what did I have to lose. Anyway good luck!

Until this week, I had no problems syncing w/my outlook calendar. Now I'm getting the following errors (see log below) on about 20 annual events (which I've had in the system for over a year). The calender sync fails and performs a recovery sync. I've deleted all occurrences of the events from both the Treo and Outlook calendars and I still get the same result. Any assistance would be appreciated. Log extract: Outlook Calendar OLERR:03-0058 (0xe0f04005) Unable to create an exception in Outlook for the record [Octoberfest....]. Did you get a solution to this? I'm in exactly the same situation and nothing is fixing it.

A soft reset tells your handheld to stop what it's doing and start over again. All records and entries stored in your handheld are retained with a soft reset. After a soft reset, the Welcome screen appears, followed by the General Preferences screen.
Use the reset tip tool (see below), or the tip of an unfolded paper clip (or similar object without a sharp tip), to gently press the reset button inside the hole on the back panel of your handheld.
Reset Tip Tool: On most PalmOS handhelds, the stylus that comes with your handheld has a reset tip inside. To use it, unscrew the barrel from the stylus quill.
If your device doesn't seem to want to power up after a soft reset, and you've checked the other obvious solutions (fresh batteries, power button, contrast wheel, contrast button) you may want to try the 'Double-Soft Reset'. Simply perform a soft reset as directed above, but press the reset button twice in quick succession.
A warm reset bypasses any system extensions (such as HackMaster hacks, OS patches, Alarm settings, etc) that are loaded on your handheld. Sometimes a damaged third-party application will try to respond to a reset but will fail and cause the handheld to 'hang'. Using a warm reset, you can start the handheld, then delete the damaged application before it has a chance to try to run again. After deleting the application, follow with a soft reset to start up the handheld normally.
To perform a warm reset:
If you're not sure which application is damaged, you can use a tool like ResetEmu in conjunction with a warm reset to help pinpoint the offending application.
With a hard reset, all records and entries stored in your handheld are erased, except for the default or specimen databases predefined by the manufacturer (but see Extended Hard Reset below). Formats Preferences and other settings are restored to their factory default settings. You can restore any data previously synchronized with your computer during the next HotSync operation. If you're running OS 3.1 or earlier, and you're not using a third-party backup utility like BackupBuddy, you may need to reinstall your third-party applications.
Never perform a hard reset unless a soft or warm reset does not solve your problem.
To perform a hard reset:
Extended Hard Reset
An Extended Hard Reset will completely erase your handheld, and will also bypass the creation of some default databases.
This differs from a normal hard reset, which will automatically create the databases for the built-in applications, and will insert some specimen records into those databases: numbers for Accessories and Technical Support will be created in your Address database, a registration reminder will be created in your ToDo database, and several helpful memos will be created in your Memo database.
In addition, a normal hard reset will also create a Network database with some default Network profiles for your Network panel in Prefs, and a file of several default MIDI alarm sounds will be created.
If you have the Notepad application, a normal hard reset ensures a sample note will appear on your NotePad, and if you have the Mail application, an email message from 'Mail Help' will be automatically inserted in your handheld Inbox.
An Extended Hard Reset will ensure that all of these startup files are not created.
If you decide to perform an Extended Hard Reset and install one or more third-party applications that expect to see the built-in databases present, you may encounter an error. For this reason, it's suggested that after an Extended Hard Reset, you run each of the built-in applications (Datebook, Address, ToDo, Memo, and if installed, NotePad and Mail) at least once to ensure empty built-in databases are created.
After an Extended Hard Reset, you will not be able to select alternate alarm sounds for Datebook alarms, but the default alarm sound will still be heard for appointments with alarms set.

The Treo won't pick up any of my calender appointments. When I go into the Palm desktop then custom fields - it trips back to 'do nothing' on the calender. This happens everytime I syncronise.
I was tring all the possible ways to resolve the issue. At last got a solution for my problem. Hope this will work for you all. Download the "OutlookConduitUpdater.zip" and install. This will resolve the calender "do nothing" while sync.

it seems dead as a doornail, but makes two short angry-sounding beeps if i try to plug it into a charger.
with an old treo 650, plugging in the charger resulted in a happy sound when first plugged in and the same two angry beeps when disconnected. putting the new/dead treo's battery in it made the old treo 650 perfectly happy.
putting the battery from the old 650 into the new/dead one still only elicited the two angry beeps.
pressing the reset button did nothing. removing the battery and waiting half a minute before replacing did nothing.

My Treo 700p is stuck in Network Search...T - the phone will not work, I cannot get it to Verizon Network. I've tried soft reset and hard reset (a few times) to nothing. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem.
It has no warranty

Verizon suggested a hard reset on my 700w for the same problem. (Hit soft reset and power/end button at same time and hit up on keypad when prompted to reset everything and reboot)
you will loose all of your features but they say it fixes 5/10 times...
It did not work for me but I wanted to share in case.

For error 4014 On the PC go to palmone/user...../ and rename the "exchange" directory to .old When you hotsync again it will work without the error and will create an empty directory. Worked for me with my new LifeDrive and TomTom software. For error 4004 The only thing that worked for me.. Was to do a hard re-set and then to reload each non-Palm problem, one by one, checking each time to see that I didn't get that same 4004 error message. This was time-consuming, but it worked.
