If this is the case, if you connect it through the USB cable to your computer for a little while, it can get a small charge.

Trickle charging
Some Palm devices have the ability to "trickle charge" from a USB port on a PC or Mac. This means that it receives a very small amount of charging from the USB port, even if it is not connected to its AC charger. If your device is capable of this function, the charging time will be significantly longer for a trickle charge (depending on the power rating of the PC USB port). However, the device may not charge at all on an unpowered USB hub (or for example off off a keyboard).

If you can then power it on afterwards, connect it to the regular power charger.

Sorry, no solution - just some added info. I have the same problem with a Palm Centro. Changed sim card (O2) but no improvement. Palm eventually replaced Centro, but fault persists. Anyone with similar problems / solutions?

Check if your handheld supports multiple languates. Your product manual may contain information about changing languages. If it does not, you may wish to find out if your handheld supports multiple languages by performing a hard reset (be aware that you will erase all data from your device when you do a hard reset). On the startup screen after the hard reset, you may be asked to select a language. If you asked which language you want to use, select a language and install a localized Palm Desktop (below). If you're not asked, your device does not support multiple languages.

-Go to the All category for applications
-Select Messaging
-Select the New button
-Type '878787' in the To field
-Type 'Get8751' in the Body
-Select Send

If the radio won't turn on it generally means it is not within coverage or the phone's account is deactivated. Take the battery out and leave out for 2 minutes. Put the battery back in and the radio should come back on. If it does not then go through the menu to bring the radio back online.

These phones are also known to have issues if the sound is turned on for some reason, try turning the sound off and back on.

sounds like the phone is faulty, have you tried doing a hard reset? it might solve the problem.

You will get a pdf document with your user guide on it. At the bottom it will show page 1 of 308. You want it to be on page 208 and that will actually be page 194 in the manual. This is the page that should show you how to set up your back light. The manual shows the buttons to puch so I think this would be a better way for you to go since you have the phone nd will be able to tell what buttons they are talking about. Hope this helps. Page 77 (79 on the pdf) discusses MIDI and related downloading issues, and page 120--pdf 122--discusses saving and running applications.

The "synchonization issue" is what messes up some people, there is
more in other tech sites (and this one as well) but until we know IF
or what kind of pc you may have (some people do these downloads
at public libraries for instance)..just follow the 'sync instructions' as
best you can, or return to the dealership and see if they can assist
you.

It seems that you need to free up some space on your phone, it could be full and thats why you getting a problem going slow to freeze..

Same thing happened to me about a month and a half ago. I own a 680. I had to open the unit to try to dry where water leaked in. A cellphone technician advised me to try a vaccum cleaner to **** the water. But I didnt do it. I used paper towels. Next get a Ziploc bag and fill it with about 1/3 cup of rice. Leave it sealed for a week. Rice absorbs any remaining humidity inside the cell. Then, try to assemble it partially to test it. If nothing happens leave it another week. I used a hair dryer, at some point to make sure it was dry, but dont overdo it cause extreme heat can damage components. Be careful at opening, I disconnected the LCD data ribbon and its been difficult to stick it back together. Now today, finally I was able to turn it on and everything works fine with the exception of the LCD light. I can see whats on the screen but I need an external light source, maybe replacing the LCD screen will fix it. Good luck with the repair.

I think I solved it by properly installing Palm Desktop 6.2.

Older palm products and vista aren't compatible. You either needs to transfer info via bluetooth or upgrade your palm if you wish to continue using vista.

Did you try opening the hotsync manager and configuring your details?

use the following settings IP address 202.56.231.117 Proxy Port Eanbled Proxy port number 8080 APN airtelgprs.com al other settings could be anything but should be something sensible, like name, homepage. No user ID, no password. both blank. Happy surfing.

It sounds like it was a network issue. Palms have this weird thing that when the signal fades in and out, it slows, locks or refused to work. That has been my experience with it. Glad you were able to get it working. Try in some better region and leave me comment RNJ VINOD KUMAR
