Hi, there is possibility of the network IC gone bad and should be changes or there is bad contact of the Antenna to the board its good to check the contact .coz if there is poor contact of the Antenna network search will be poor

The only way to reset this to english is by performing a Hard Reset. It will remove all information on the phone BUT after it reformats it gives you the option to select English or Spanish.
The hard reset is performed by following the instructions below:
Press and hold down the red phone key on the right side of the Treo 650 keyboard until the Palm screen appears. This will begin the hard reset.
Let go of the red phone button when you see the Palm screen.
Read the screen prompt carefully. It will ask you to press the up arrow key to proceed with the hard reset or the down arrow key to abort. Press the up arrow to continue with the hard reset.
Wait for the phone to reboot. When it comes back on, it will ask you to select a language and walk you through the same introductory screens you saw when you first got the phone.

unfortunately, the password is made for protection from accidental or intentional access. The only way to bypass this would be to perform a hard reset and then hotsync your phone with your computer to put your contacts back on your phone.

I would first look to see if the wall adapter is making a good connection with a plug known to be "hot", then make sure the phone is connected cleaning to the adapter by looking into the connection port. Look for any grime or lint that might obstruct the connection.
These are the two easiest problems to solve. If it isn't either of them, removed the battery and check that it is making a good connection. I'd try this a couple times just to be sure.
If it isn't either of these problems that means the problem is internal. The phone has two boards inside it. The mainboard holds the power connection and it would be my assumption that this has been damaged. It has happened to my personal treo once. The only fix for this is replacement of the mainboard. It isn't terribly difficult for soneone who is experienced but it is very invasive. Sorry for the bad news if this is, indeed, the problem!

Sounds like you have already done everything that you can do, hard reset, reflash rom. There is not much else you can do about it. Seems like you have a faulty logic board in the phone, or its going bad, eventually the freezing will become more frequent. Happened on my Ipaq 3850 many years ago, I had to reset it almost all the time and then it just went bad completely, wouldn't boot up anymore.

I suppose you are outside of warranty, I don't think a Treo 650 costs that much these days, you might be able to buy a used Treo from ebay or similar, that still works properly Or maybe it would be time to buy a new phone.

Verizon 700wx:I had the same problem. With little or no movement, the phone would go from charging to not over and over. At home with it perfectly still it would charge maybe 1/4 in 6 hours. Same problem with 3 different chargers. With the battery out, I dipped a Q-tip in rubbing alcohol squeeze out excess and jammed it into the charging port on the phone. Put the battery back in and oh **** nothing. Took it back out and let it dry for a few minutes and were back in business. No more charging problems at all.

May be a little risky, but warranty was up and what did I have to lose. Anyway good luck!

I would suggest you back up any very important content off the phone, like contacts and possibly messages.

After that I would reocmmend you do a hard reset, this will restore the phone to the factory defaults - to the shape it was in when you purchased it.

Hopefully and often it does solve the issue and many others.

LOL....that is the crappy thing about this phone. Can't receive text pictures either...have you noticed that? I LOVE everything else about this phone.

I don't understand how you can surf the net, download webpages and pictures, but you can't recieve a text picture or send a picture to anyone! baffles me....but I still love this phone.

Highlight it and select the options tab, you will have an option for delete. You can select the shift tab and select more then one message at a time..

Dial *67 before the number you dial and then dial normally. Make sure to use the area code when dialing the number. Hope this helps!

The best thing I can do for you is to refer you to the free palm chat. For the palm phones I have to know what service provider you use to be able to get you to the correct link. So here is a link to palm support for your phone. Click on the icon for your service provider (Rodgers, AT & T or Palm) From there you want to click on the words “support services” at the top of the page. If you have selected AT&T on the previous page you will be able to do a palm chat. The link for the free chat is located in about the middle of the page. If you have any other provider besides AT&T you have the option to start a repair ticket or if it is under warranty there is a number to call. Best wishes…I hope this will help you.

Hi, First off how long have you owned the unit and how long have you had this problem? Also what is the make/model of the keyboard? Also who is your cellphone carrier? Is it possible something happened to the phone over the 12 month time period? It sounds like either a charging issue with the phone or the batteries being bad. Possibly worse the phone could be broken. At the link above you can purchase a refurbished unit for less then a 100$. Palm charges 299$ for out of warranty repairs. You can also consider getting a repair estimate from an independent repair service. If you have any other questions or need further assistance let me know.

To fix this, go to your wireless sync settings.

Wireless Sync > Settings > When to Sync

Uncheck all of the time options so Wireless Sync no longer automatically tries to sync. Wireless sync is set to use HotSync. This is required for HotSync to work properly.
