Sir now you have to upgrade the software of your phone

It might just be that the battery is shot and you need to replace just it, I would try that before you throw it away

Well had to do a hard reset- lost everything, had no back up, long story don't think I'll bother with palm ever again!

hey ur battery doesnt seems ok to me pls consider changing battery if it is taking too long to charge and let me know if u want more help

u have to re install the whole software on new laptop

just download the software from here and install

perform a reset, a hard reset and also let the battery run out.

Perform a hard reset

If you are unable to perform a hard reset we need to either disconnect the battery, if not removeable then you need to let the palm drain all its battery to empty and then plug it into the charger again. it may take up to a week to drain the battery.

I suspect that you're in fact holding a Palm TX and not a T5 as the T5 does not have WiFi. If you're using the Palm SD WiFi adaptor, do a hard reset without the card.

(hold down the ON/OFF button whilst using the reset pin to press the reset button. You'll be asked if you are sure you wish to reset. You'll then be prompted to choose the language caliberate the screen etc..)

After that. Go and download all the updates and drivers from Palm Web site.

You shoudl have Documents to go with your palm already or at least on the installation CD.

If you look on your palm, do you know what the Palm name is?
You can find this by clicking the hotsync icon once and it should appear in the upper right hand corner.

Then in quick install, make sure the name in the drop down window matches. You could be installing the files to the wrong profile.

The other thing to check is to make sure your palm is successfully syncing. The hotsync icon on the palm should show the last successful sync time and date.

An interrupted update will corrupt your ROM. I sincerely hope you'll get a better 2nd opinion, and from your post it seems like if theres a solution out there then you're not likely to miss it ;] Good luck, and let us know if you worked it out

Just put palm pilot instructions into google, preferably with your pilots model number and it'll take you to the Palm Piolt site where you can download a pdf of the relevant manual. Its easier to do it this way than me explain, besides you can then work through it at your own speed. Hope this helps. Happy Christmas
