I hard reset Palm LifeDrive.
When you say you perform a hard reset on it how did you go about the hard reset? Did you use a code? There are various ways of carrying out a hard reset some use coded and these codes usually end up deleting some of the system files in the unit and cause such damages as you are experiencing now. What you need to do is download the OS setup from the units website and install it fresh on the unit this should correct all errors which were caused by the hard reset.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

Hi you should update the software of the Palm Lifedrive Handheld you can got to manufacturer website and download the software.
I have a Palm LifeDrive. It has data belonging to
To wipe all user informations from your device, slide and hold the power button to the right, and whilst keeping it in that position, briefly press the reset pin with the stylus pen (or, if it is missing, a paper clip would do). Release the power switch only when the reset screen comes up. Then, press the D-pad's Down key. This process will take some time (up to 25 minutes).
Hope it works for you.
By the way, if you happen to miss the LifeDrive user guide, feel free to download it from this location
Palm life drive frozen on "palm one "screen
When you see the first screen (the orange one) hold the UP button as the bar moves across the bottom of the screen. Let go right before the screen goes to the silver logo. If it continues and opens Prefs, then you need to delete the program causing it to reboot.
If that doesn't work, do a Hard Reset. A Hard Reset will erase everything on your lifedrive, so only do it if you have to. Hold the Power Button while you push the reset button. Continue with the instructions to finish erasing your device.
Did a reset...stuck on the
Yes, is the only answer I can offer you as I have the same problem. The best advice I have found is.. replace the hard drive with a new micro drive or flash drive.
Love is... knowing my name is safe in your mouth when I leave the room.
My Palm won't turn on,
After taking the first 2 screws out you need prize open the cover. There are two indented areas between the front and back plates near the bottom of the device on each side. Behind these areas are clips, and can be released by pushing inward whilst prizing apart the two plates. Prize all the way along until back cover comes straight off. You might want to do do this on a warmer day or when the device has been in a warm house for a while as the materials will be more flexible and less brittle.
Hope this helps ya
We exchanged the battery but
The best thing to do is to go to the free palm chat service
they offer. I have used this and it worked good for me. Here is a link to the
free chat service. Scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see a Palm
Chat. From there click on the link that says Chat Now and follow the online
prompts. Best wishes...I hope this will help you.
Now for the link.......
No wi-fi signal on Palm Lifedrive
Ok first thing to know is if the LD is detecting networks at all. Tap the wfif icon and hit the scan button. If you see a list of available networks that means its working and the problem is the settings.
I'm assuming that it is detecting the network from your description.
The LD supports WEP and WPA so you have other options if nothing else. WEP is nice and simple (most of the time anyway)
On the scan find your network tap edit, Make sure the SSID is correct, Make sure that it says WEP under scurity and then tap the key box where is says assigned.
Now this is the bit that makes or breaks the connection. Make sure the key type is set correctly. You have three choices hex, ascii or passphrase. Most wireless router just use the first two.
You need to make sure that this is set to exactly the same as the router.
For ten digits that means you are trying to use 40-bit hex which is not the easiest but it works sometimes. Ascii tends to go a lot easier and I would suggest you consider switching over the ascii to avoid the headaches. I don't know why the LD does not want to work all of the time when using the hex key but it does seem to have problems. Assuming you have the hex key matching exactly as per the one you have in the router it should work. Should but sometimes just won't. Check your cases and make sure you are only using the basic ascii set not the extended. Stick to number and letters and you should be good.
I have never had a problem with the ascii or passcode but usually do not have much sucsess with the hex setup even when it is correct. I've assumed that it was something I've missed but have not had these problems using other devices.
It wont power on how do i get the palmone
Usually those symptoms mean a motherboard problem or a battery problem. Both are replaceable and worth doing if you use your LD.
You can try a power reset. Plug the LD in and hold the 5 way button down then reset the Ld using the reset button. You may need 3 hands to do this. Sometimes this will reset the power section and get you running.
When the lifedrive dies duo harddisk, there are
You have two options one is of course a replacement drive but the other is replacing the little hard drive with a flash disk. The flash drive is nothing more than a 4gb compact flash memory card that happens to use the same connector as the Hitachi hard drive. Of the two I'd go flash myself.
The flash disk is faster and uses far less power so your battery life can increase by quite a bit. I think it is something like 10% of the power. Next to the display this is the single biggest power item. I've heard of the useful battery life increasing anywhere from 3x to about 6x after doing this. You can get the drive or flash from several places online. These are the same CF cards as used in many cameras. Most also offer the installation service.
Here is a link to one place but do a few searches and compare prices etc. Just search for lifedrive, flash, drive or lifedrive hard drive replacement and you should get quite a few.
My lifedrive when plugged in comes up with the
Unfortunetly that is typical of the internal microdrive having died on you. If the hard reset doesn nothing then that is most likely your problem.
You can replace the microdrive but if you want to improve your LD you can get it changed to use a compact flash disk such as a SanDisk 4gb card. It will run much faster and for longer. This is a simple thing to replace either but given the choice I'd go with the CF. There are several place that will repair your LD for you if you don't want to fix it yourself. You should end up spendingunder $100
When you do a hard reset and go to secure erase it
You need to have the 2.0 update installed before the secure erase will work properlly. You can download this from the Palmone website. It updates the hidden directory and changes some of the palm os so that it will now do a reset and restore properlly.
Thats the only thing that I can think of that fits your description.
Docs and media onto a LifeDrive with Vista
The problem is that the Palm desktop sfotware that works with the LD doesn't work well with vista so you need to do things a bit differently.
I copy files to sdcards if they are say movies or music in otherwords big or lots of files as it is faster. If I want to copy my documents to the ld hardrive simply plug the LD into the usb data cable and then turn on drive mode. Vista will now recognize your ld as just another flash drive or usb drive device. Copy the files to the hardrive or even the sdcard if its in the slot. You can create your own directories in either place so it is easy to know where your files are.
My lifedrive wet and dont want to start, what
You need to totally let the LD dry out before attempting to start it.
Leave it in a warm but not hot place for atleast a week or so before trying
You also need to know that there is a good chance it won't work . If it is fresh water and it wasn't running when you got it wet you may get lucky and it will live again. Almost every liquid will kill the palm if it is running but some such as saltwater, or beer or soda will always hurt it.
Wish I had better news for you.
Palm Lifedrive's dead
Its probably the motherboard which needs replacing. There are other posts on this site with the same problem, try referring to them.
Wifi not function
My Internet service provider walked me through connecting correctly. I had chosen the WEP security options and should have chosen the WPA-PSK option. Call your service provider and get them to help verify your security access codes.
LD is possessed
Try PowerDiGi on http://www.palmpowerups.com/news.php
. I've just found this site and successfully used the SDHC driver, but make sure you follow the instructions to the letter, particularly the creating your palmpowerups user account before ordering.
