It could be Mediacom having problems if not unplug your rca dcm425 for 30 secs and plug it back in im sure you hear people say that alot but it works and if you have a router unplug it first plug it back in and then the rca.

I got your issue, Inorder to change the security on your router follow these steps,

1. Open your browser (eg: Internet Explorer), clear the address bar and type 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.1.1 (according to your modem's Default gateway address)and hit enter, You will be logged into your router setup page

2. Click on security on that page

3. changed the security password to your wish and then save the changes which you have made

Yes. Ask the technician to confirm that your modem is "grounded" correctly. Get the technician to bring a different modem, and experiment with that modem.

RCA DCM425 digital cable modems only have one Ethernet cable located in the back of the device. In order to have two computers connected at the same time you will need to have router. The router will connect to the Ethernet port on the back of the RCA modem and then you can have up to 4 computers connected directly to the router using Ethernet cables. If any of your computers are wifi compatible they will also be able to get online by using the wifi from the router.

Your RCA DCM425 modem is just that, a modem. you need to buy and plug a wireless router into it. That will broadcast your internet connection for your playstation to find.

Try updating the firmware of the modem.
If that doesnt help try getting a new one.

Of course the first thing to do is to check the connection of your cable all the way to the wall. Did you disconnect anything?
It is usually best to unplug the cable modem from anything connected to it and to check after you disconnect if from the power outlet and the cable. I would also love to know the answer to this I need to open my port to on the modem so I can use the network camera.

I would first make sure there is power to the outlet that your modem is connected to. If you already have something else on that outlet and it works, move on. Hook a light into the outlet to check - you may have tripped a breaker or blew a fuse to this outlet. If the outlet is OK, the surge during the outage may have destroyed the modem. You can take it to a repair shop or buy a new one. Any warranty will not cover the item. I suggest getting a surge protected outlet for all computer devices. Good ones are not cheap, but they come with insurance to pay for your devices should something happen.

Call your Internet Service Provider, and ask for Technical Support.
If they want to keep you as a customer, they will make the modem work, or replace it with one that does work.

Check in the manual if you have it, if not check in google with the model of the modem for it's capacities in the modem specs.

You may have already tried this but usually this can be fixed by unplugging it for at least 30 seconds. If you have a router attached unplug it also and wait to power it back up until after the modem power is reconnected. Hope this helps.
