The fuser rollers (large orange rubber rollers visible with top cover open) are getting too hot, or the temperature sensor/wiring is faulty and misreading the temperature. Assuming sensor is okay, check the exhaust fan is running and expelling warm air as over time it will clog with dust and the fuser unit won't be cooled effectively.

1.5" comes to about 38 mm, the closest thing I found to that mark is the T2 roller needs replacing.

look at the fuser also!

reseat the toner..could be the chip/fuse on the right side under the cover.

i have found that removing the toners, and shaking them side to side, while keeping them horizontal, which seems to spread the toner for even distribution. This can sometimes fix the problems with fading prints. hope it helps.
Margins i think might be a problem with the wysiwyg of the program, some don't do it well, but also excel in particular has a shrink to fit page option, you may find the percentage not at 100%. you can also copy an excel table to word and print from that if it is driving you nuts.

The duplexer is bad or needs to be realigned, shake up the cyn color. it mostly likely low.

there is a thermostat circuit that regulates the temperature of the fuser. A sensor reads its tempurator and something is out of wack -either the sensor or the sensor tempurature circuit .

your toners are almost empty or you are using refills or cheap chinese compatibles or you live in a hot climate. remove the dev roller from the toner cartridge and scrape the dev blade clean with your finger nail and reassemble. you will feel when you scrape the edge of the dev blade it is rough, this is caused by the blade coagulating the toner into hard deposits thus causing the toner to be limited coming out and producing un even prints.

If installed through the network connection go to the machines ip address in ie or firefox and it will tell you. or print a config page using the menu buttons on the machine

Its asking for you to put some paper in the tray at the side of the printer. There is a small hatch on the right hand side which will turn in to a paper tray when pulled open. Put in the paper and it will print. You will then have to disable that tray to prevent it happening again.

I'm not sure where you downloaded the driver from, but try this link. It is direct to Samsung.com. The drivers there should work perfectly with your computer and printer.

Have you washed it out with saop and water and let dry? If it can't see into the tank it thinks it's full

check the header and top margin in your application. (word, Note pad, etc..)
default top margin for Microsoft word is 1".
also check the orientation of the printer output.

un install the printer driver and software from control panel>>add and removed software.
install the downloaded clp-500 printer driver and software.

sound like the printer need a good cleaning. including the toner opening.
The toner may be expired. as the color pigment deteriorated with age.
usual color pigment store in a dry and cool place can last 2 years, if lefted out in the printer, it may only give you max 1 year.

Too much people confuse CLP-500 cartridges with CLP-510. Although they look the same and even fit inside the printer, the internal chip is not the same.
