How do I clean white or black spots on printed documents? Description: First make 10 to 15 copies of a blank, white sheet of paper.
If you still see the spots on printed documents after making multiple copies, clean the drum unit as follows:

  1. Remove the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly, and then remove the toner cartridge from the drum unit.
  2. Position the print sample in front of the drum unit so you will know the exact position on the drum that is causing the poor print.

  4. Turn the black gear on the drum as you check the surface of the OPC drum.
The OPC drum is photosensitive so do not touch it with your fingers.

  6. When you find the substance on the drum surface that matches the print sample, gently dab the surface of the OPC drum with a cotton swab that is lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol.
  7. Note
      • Do not use a scrubbing or wiping motion because this might damage the drum.

      • Do not try to clean the surface of the OPC drum with a sharp object, such as a ball-point pen, because this might cause permanent damage to the drum unit.
  8. If the print quality still has not improved you need to install a new drum.

there is a problem with the detection of toner, could be:
  • the toner cartridge not set in the printer correctly
  • the toner cartridge is faulty (replacing the cartridge may fix)
  • a part in the printer is faulty and is not detecting the toner, or toner cartridge
I'm not exactly familiar with where the toner is detected but you could use an 'air brush' to clean the printer, as perhaps the part that contacts with the cartridge is dirty. You could give the toner cartridge a little side-to-side shake as this may even out the toner and activate the part that detects the toner.

Persistant paperjams with this printer - clean the excess toner off the rubber rollers and your jam problems will be over.

You will notice a long top roller thats the main culprit (its barely visable above the main paper pickup by a long metal strip).

Obvoiusly before you go in there with a damp cloth you have to unplug the machine and take out the toner cart.

Had a few days with the same infruriating jamming, lucky enough to find the above site full of tips, and now am getting smoother printing.

Hi
Re-check the cartridge installations.
Try disconnecting the printer from power and then connecting it again.
Solved?
Try cleaning the 'printhead'.

hi

Thanks for posting.

As said the problem is mostly with the paper source choosen by you in your PC. But to rule-out the problem do check and make sure the paper try is full with papers and also do check the sensor. Its an black color plastic which you can find it below the printer where you insert the paper tray. If its an old printer try to clean it with a cold Air blow completely and it should solve the prob.

try taking off the rear cover and holding down the plastic switch near the top of the circuit board. I have marked the location in the image below. When i was having trouble with this printer i just held it down towards the ground for around 10 seconds and it printed a test page just fine.

First open all covers and make sure there is not another piece of paper stuck in the machine. Check under the toner cartridge. If you are sure there is no other paper stuck, try unplugging the machine wait about a minute and plug back in.
