My cross trainer is saying error 30 whats wrong with it
Precor Error 30, 31, 32 and 33, Communications Error
Probable Cause
1. Bad interconnect cable between upper PCA and lower PCA.
2. Interconnect cable is mistakenly plugged into the CSAFE connector at the upper PCA.
3. Elliptical 5.17 equipped with old software version 1.01 in upper and lower PCA.
4. Upper and lower PCAs have mismatched software.
5. Another component plugged onto the PCA is overloading the +5VDC power supply.
6. Bad lower PCA.
7. Bad upper PCA.
Corrective Action
- Test unit with a know good interconnect cable or test the interconnect cable for continuity. Replace interconnect cable if necessary.
- Disconnect the interconnect cable from the CSAFE connector and attach to the proper position on the upper PCA.3.
- Replace the upper and lower software of the 5.17 elliptical with the most current versions.4.
- If one of the PCAs is found to have software version 1.01, replace it with the most current software version.
- Disconnect all components from the upper and lower PCA leaving the data cable connecting between the upper and lower PCAs and the AC power going to the lower PCA. If the unit shows any error other than the error 3x, reconnect components one at a time. Reset power between each newly connected component until the error 3x reappears. Whichever component was last connected when the error 3x reappears, is the cause for the error. Replace the faulty component.
- Test unit with a known good lower PCA. Replace the lower PCA if necessary.
- Test unit with a known good upper PCA. Replace the upper PCA if necessary.

Squeaking
I imagine if 106 people have responded then at least one may have asked if the squeak is coming from the wheels. I see it every week under warranty. the ramps and wheels need time to wear a little and until then they can be hideous. its counter intuitive being as that the ramps and wheels are supposed to be cleaned all the time. BUT, when new they make a racket and the easiest way to shut them up is a to rub a bar of soap on the ramp where the wheels travel. it shuts them up and holds a little dust over time to wear the shine off the wheels and make them act as they should. Beyond that I would need to know where the sound was coming from if not there.
MY EFX SAYS ERROR 30 WHAT WRONG WITH IT
Errors 30 through 33 all indicate the loss of communications or erratic communications betweenthe microprocessors in the upper PCA and the lower PCA. The trouble shooting procedures forall of the are essentially the same. Error 30 is defined as upper PCA not receiving from lowerPCA. Error 31 is defined as faulty data received from lower PCA. Error 32 is defined as lowerPCA not receiving from upper PCA. Error 33 is defined as faulty data received from upper PCAPossible Causes1. An upper PCA to lower PCA interconnect cable is bad.2. The interconnect cable at the upper PCA was mistakenly plugged into the CSAFE connector.3. A 5.17 EFX equipped with version 1.01 upper and lower software.4. A 5.17 with mismatched upper and lower software.5. A defective lower PCA.6. A defective upper PCA.Possible Remedies1. Remove the interconnect cable from the CSAFE connector and insert it in the correct upperPCA connector.3. Replace the 5.17 upper and lower software with the most current software versions.4. If only one of the upper or lower software is version 1.01, replace the version 1.01 softwarewith the most current version of software.5. Substitute a known good lower PCA to determine if the lower PCA is defective.6. Substitute a known good upper PCA determine if the upper PCAs defective.
My precor 100I AMT elliptical keeps resetting when you slow down. Anybody know what's causing this?
steps you can try:
- Power source: Ensure that the elliptical is properly connected to a stable power source. Check the power cord and make sure it is securely plugged into a working outlet. Examine the cord for any signs of damage or fraying.
- Console battery: The console of the elliptical may have a backup battery that helps retain settings and data during a power interruption. If this battery is low or depleted, it can cause the console to reset. Consult the user manual to locate the battery compartment and check the battery's condition. Replace it if necessary.
- Loose connections: Examine the cables and connections between the console and other components of the elliptical. Ensure they are securely plugged in and not loose or damaged. Loose connections can cause intermittent power disruptions and lead to resetting issues.
- Overloading the machine: If you are exceeding the maximum weight or load capacity specified for the elliptical, it can strain the components and cause the system to reset. Check the user manual or manufacturer's guidelines for the recommended weight limit and ensure it is not being exceeded.
- Faulty console or control board: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, there may be a problem with the console or control board of the elliptical. This could be due to a malfunctioning component or a software glitch. In such cases, it is recommended to contact Precor customer support or consult a professional technician for further assistance. They will have the expertise to diagnose and address the specific issue with your elliptical's console.
Precor EFX 556 cross trainer slow startup
My precor efx556 does not detect pedaling, how can i fix it?
hello there, check if the lift control system is detected the lift is moving in the opposite direction of the issued lift command. This error would happen when the lift was already in motion (typically downward) when a lift command in the opposite direction (lift upward) was issued.
What causes a slow boot up on a Precor EFX 546?
A slow boot up on a Precor EFX 546 elliptical machine can be caused by several factors, including:
- Low battery voltage: If the battery voltage is low, the machine may take longer to boot up. This can be due to a weak or old battery, or a problem with the battery charger.
- Dirty or corroded contacts: Dirt, dust, or corrosion on the battery contacts or other electrical contacts can interfere with the machine's ability to start up quickly.
- Faulty console or display board: If the console or display board is malfunctioning, it may take longer for the machine to boot up or may not boot up at all.
- Loose or damaged cables or connections: Loose or damaged cables or connections can prevent the machine from starting up properly and may cause a slow boot up.
- Outdated software: If the software on the machine is outdated, it may take longer for the machine to boot up or it may not start up at all.
To troubleshoot a slow boot up on a Precor EFX 546, you can try the following steps:
- Check the battery voltage and replace the battery if necessary.
- Clean the contacts on the battery and other electrical components.
- Inspect the cables and connections for damage or looseness.
- Check for any error codes or messages on the console or display board and consult the user manual for troubleshooting steps.
- Check for any available software updates and install them if necessary.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may need to contact a professional technician for further assistance.
Precor 556i / AXGE....Problema with the resistance. Can anybody help me?
Hey Fabian, it's possible that the resistance motor or sensors on your wife's Precor 556i/AXGE may need to be recalibrated. Try powering off the machine, unplugging it for a minute, and then plugging it back in to see if that resets the calibration. If the problem persists, you can try recalibrating the machine manually. There should be instructions in the user manual or online. If that doesn't work, then contacting customer service or a certified technician may be necessary. I hope this helps!
Precor 9.45 reset safety switch message wont go away
If you have checked the safety switch on your Precor 9.45 treadmill and everything seems to be intact, and the "reset safety switch" message still won't go away, it's possible that the switch itself is faulty or the console is not receiving the signal from the switch.
You can try cleaning the switch and the area around it, and also check the wires that connect the switch to the console to make sure they are not damaged. If the switch or wires appear to be damaged, they may need to be replaced.
If cleaning and checking the switch and wires doesn't resolve the issue, it's recommended that you contact the manufacturer or a qualified repair technician to further diagnose and fix the problem. They may be able to provide additional troubleshooting steps or suggest other possible solutions.
Precor treadmill making squeaking noise when running fast
Two likely candidates: Belt or tread. Lubricating the tread would be the easiest starting point; but if you're running at 7 or more you've probably already thought of that.
If the cover isn't too difficult to remove, you can expose the drive belt and the squeaking volume change would be an indicator that the drive belt is the problem.
