Soyo SY-K7V Dragon Motherboard - Page 6 Questions & Answers
Pls, need to attach front panel connectors to VTE
Diagonally opposite(diagonally opposite corner) to where you connect your mouse and keyboard, there will be pins on the motherboard to connect the front panel connectors. You can identify it by names written near it like SPK or Speaker, on/off and so on. The connectors on the front panel will also have names written on them. Just match and connect them. Reset switch, Power and speaker will not be a problem connecting. But hard disk light connector will be a little tricky. you have to connect to the correct polarity. USB connectors will be near these pins and will be labled as USB5 or USB4 and so on, on the motherboard. You will be able to insert the USB connector in one direction, so connecting it is not a problem.
SY-P4VTE attaching casing front panel to motherboard
Without knowing the manufacturer of the box, if you look on the connectors they will normally have things like SPKR, (speaker), POWER (on off button) HDLED (Hard disc LED light), TURBO. If they don't you'll need to trace the wires to where they go. The manual for the motherboard will explain which goes whrer once you've traced them. If not the motherboard will have (very small) writing againist the header on the motherboard.
Monitor has white screen
Hello,
White screens are caused by one of two things, either a bad power supply or a blown fuse on the lcd panel. To check the power supply section you can go to our site at:

No video
No video on a mother board cane be a combination of a few things, here are my suggestions
Take all devices off memory, video and/or any other pci card. Boot up the system to see if there is a beep or audible alert, this usually sounds off when the correct hardware installed installed or installed correctly, thi is a good fast motherboard test.
1. remove memory and reinstall it
2. remove the video card and ensure it is seated in the AGPor Pci slot
power the machine up to see if you have video, if not then there might be an issue with either CPU or motherboard
SY-K7V DRAGON Plus no longer boots.
Try reseating the memory and restarting the PC. If that doesn't help and you have multiple sticks, try removing all but one, then cycle through to see if maybe you have a bad stick somewhere.
24" DOA Soyo Monitor
What size monitor were you using before? If you were using a smaller monitor and everything was fine maybe this new monitor is out of range for the graphics card. I've found that not all graphics cards, especially older ones, will not run a monitor as large as 24 inches. If you can, connect this new 24 inch monitor to a computer with a more powerful graphics card. If it works then you will know that the problem is with your computer. Also connect your old monitor and go into control panel and see what range and resolution your graphics card will support. You may need a more powerful card to run the new monitor.

The processor socket is no good, have a look at the capacitors around the processor socket or even the under side of the motherboard where the processor socket is. Look for signs if temperature change, burning or discolouration. This type of board ( socket A ) is now a very old board and is likely to be passed it's useful life.

First put the stick you are having issues with in a different slot; If it still does not work download memtest86 and burn it to a cd and run it with only the RAM stick you are having issues with. Here is a link to the program http://www.memtest86.com/memtest34a.zip
Monitor went black no picture
remove the vga cable and see any display is coming up in your laptop like no connection or no signal
If not assume your monitor is gone so far from you, catch a new one and let it go

Have you flashed the BIOS with either the original factory settings or a recent update? Take careful note of exactly where the computer restarts, either upon Windows start-up or from a cold restart. If the former, then there is no substitute for a reinstall, which is also a good time to make all the settings in Windows just the way you like them. I have reinstalled Windows at least 20 times and always have had changes that I learned from the previous installation. If the computer is restarting before Windows boot, then it is in the BIOS. Reflash from the original or update based upon your needs which can be found in the revision notes for each update. There is only one other suggestion. If per-chance, you have an AMD based machine and have recently tried to install Windows XP SP3, you have been caught in a freakish occurrence. Allegedly, Microsoft has been working, endlessly it now appears, a fix but I would not wait for them. f you can, back up your data and attempt to remove the Service Pack (3). If you cannot remove it, go ahead and reinstall. Pray for a working backup or successful backup attempt. I would suggest both knees.
My Employer Says They Are Going To Cut My Wages. Can They?
If you are in the middle of a contract, then cutting your wages is almost certainly a violation of your employment law rights. While I am by no means an expert on this matter, I did have a similar issue years ago - mid-contract wage cuts - and I hired an
employment attorney to fight the case on my behalf. It turned out that my employer was basically looking to scare people into taking the wage cut.
They got into some pretty serious legal trouble for their transgression, and nothing happened to me in terms of wage cuts after that. If you are between contracts, your employer can re-negotiate your salary, but as far as I am aware, if you are in an agreed-upon contract, they cannot just decide to reduce your salary. If you want to settle matters, contest this action with support from a legal professional.
