either the video card/video onboard is bad or the monitor control board is starting to fail.

you need to have the pc checked first to make sure the video works on other displays. if it does then replace the monitor. its cheaper to replace than fix.

Im not totally sure about the restart if they are really inverted ..but from what I remember there was the issue ..

you should check what is the resolution of the monitor and the clock Hertz and adjust the the computer according to the monitor

That's a socket 462 (socket A) board. That is for early AMD cpu's.

The flickering is usually caused by bad capacitors on the mother board. However on the larger monitors it can be caused by failing IC;s that have been next to too much heat. Take to a reputable repair person or check out my website www.micromendllc.com

try clearing the cmos then go into the bios on reboot set the time and date then click on default settings and reboot. If it works fine after that slowly change the settings to your specifications. Sounds like the cpu might have been overclocked to high or the cpu is failing.

The best way to see if your monitor or vga card is faulty is to plug this monitor into another PC, if it works then the issue will lie on your PC's gvga card/config

If it doesnt work on another PC then your monitor is faulty

if possible remove motherboard c/mos battery this will do a factory reset and let you boot up.

look closely at the board most soyo boards have a pinout legend on the board it will be in white lettering, if not try the soyo homepage, or call there tech support they can more then likely email you a legend

You need to go into your desktop settings and tell Windows that you have a second monitor and to use it. Then you should see the option to select which screen you want to use as a default. Make your selection and close the windows.

Are the graphics drivers loaded.
(Assuming you are using Windows) what happens when you rightclick on the desktop screen and you click on the Settings Tab

update your bios there is a problem with that board not seeing the usb keyboards from time to time

rjmusvi, Sometimes the VGA connector at the rear of the PC needs to have it RESEATED 4-8 times to see if it returns the screen to NORMAL colors being displayed on the LCD panel!!! Do this with the POWER OFF to both PC and LCD monitor!!! Also check to see if any of the pins in the monitor to pc plug are bent or pushed down into the connector body. 12fixlouie on fixya

It sounds like the button is stuck and is overriding all other buttons.

If the button is not stuck, then the monitor is having other issues and is probably going out.

Assuming the button is stuck - Unplug the monitor from power, use isopropyl alcohol and cotton swabs to clean around the edges of the button.

If you are talking about the Northbridge chip set, you can buy a fanless solution from www.zalmanusa.com. It's called a ZM-NB47J. The ZM-NB47J does not require a fan, and thus does not need to be powered and does not create noise or vibration. I put one on my Soyo KT-600 system and it worked just fine. I have run all day long without any overheating.

Live with it or replace it, monitors are not repairable.
