Linkage problem,
Make sure lens is set on AF and not M. Clean body and lens contacts with a Q-tip dipped in alcohol. Try multiple lenses to make sure it is not a problem with just one lens. Put the lens on M and turn the front and make sure it turns freely and is not stuck by impact/spillage etc. Push down on the release button and make sure you have two distinct 'pops' (release switch may be broken). Gently lift up mirror and make sure that the AF sub mirror also comes up properly. Impact can break the little plastic guide pin for the sub mirror so that it is not in the right position and the AF will not work. Also make sure that the spring that makes the sub mirror come up is in position (they come off). Can be on either the right or left side of the mirror depending upon the model. These are the steps I would take if you brought your camera into the shop I work at.

some symptoms of a defective CCD include distorted images or abnormal colors, scratchy purple lines, blank or black pictures, and/or black videos with good sound being recorded on the camera's flash card.A CCD problem would explain the lines on your pictures and the lines on the LCD (since the CCD is used to feed the live image). CCD (Charge Coupled Device) is one of the two main types of image sensors used in digital cameras. When a picture is taken, the CCD is struck by light coming through the camera's lens. Each of the thousands or millions of tiny pixels that make up the CCD convert this light into electrons. The number of electrons, usually described as the pixel's accumulated charge, is measured, then converted to a digital value. This last step occurs outside the CCD, in a camera component called an analog-to-digital converter. In order to correct this issue, the repair facility needs to replace the CCD. This is not something you may do on your own; check this article for additional details:Bad CCDs. This, isn't a good new, but hope helps to solve it.Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.
Canon 12x36 is ii stabilization is not working properly. Stabilization
tends to want to stray.
Hello, I think dust, smudges, or fingerprints on the lenses can affect image quality and stabilization performance. Use a soft, lint-free cloth or lens cleaning solution to gently clean the lenses of your binoculars. Make sure not to apply excessive pressure or use abrasive materials that could scratch the lens surface. Moreover, when using image-stabilized binoculars, it's important to hold them steadily and avoid sudden movements. Rest your elbows on a stable surface or use a tripod if possible to minimize hand tremors. Ensure that you're using proper stabilization techniques to maximize the effectiveness of the stabilization feature.
Canon Digital IXUS 500 5.0MP is not powering on when CF card inserted.
In general Compact Flash Cards have to be formatted within the camera that is using them as they use a format proprietary to that camera. Also there are size limits on cards. If your camera will only take 16 Mb cards and you put a 32 Mb card in, it will not read it. It sees it as 'No Card Present'.
