Is your local network wireless (WiFi) ?

If you failed to enter the right password the first time . it is possible that the configuration is keeping this password,and does not let tou connect to your network. Try deleting it and start a new connection again

Try moving your Roku closer to your wireless router for a better signal.( Try scanning for networks again with your Roku, through the wireless settings window) If your wireless router is set to hidden mode, you will need to login to your router, and temporarily change it's mode to visible while connecting your Roku device. Once you've connected successfully, you can change the router back to hidden mode.

It needs to be done on the computer not on the roku you need to do it on the computer .

The code is only used for a short time and then becomes invalid. Have your computer on the Roku screen and then get the code from the Roku and press enter it.

what does the modem lights doing are they blinking ? what is status of what the pc or laptop doing ?

The Roku needs an Internet connection, either by cable or Wi-Fi. I prefer cable, but Wi-Fi works fine, too. I had one working with cable, and another with Wi-Fi. If you don't have a router, do some research and get the latest type. I believe that "N," but I could be wrong. They are available for $50 and under, or you can pay several hundred dollars. I prefer $50 and under. All routers I have gotten have come with a phone number for free help with installation.

On the top left hand side of on screen keyboard the is an arrow pointing upward. That will do cap ital letters

You have to connect it with AV, go in the setup and change it to low definition. Then after it connects hdmi change the definition to high. I had to do it with mine like that.

Before falling with the Roku, make sure you have a Netflix account.
Once you have your Roku install and connected to the network, register the device. Once register, in Roku scroll down to channels and press OK in the remote control. From here search for Netflix and add the channel. Press the back button or the home button to go back to the beginning. Download the Youtube channel, scroll to it and open it, in the display it will prompt you to go to a certain website to activate it and insert the code in the display.

Once you setup your new roku device, as long as you use the same account membership, the new device should download all the same channels you currently use. I bought a new roku3, and when i set it up all the channels i had on my older Roku XS were updated to it. good luck, great little device.

Roku 2XD does not have an ethernet port so you have to improve your Wifi capability. Using a Wifi booster will help but not reliably connected always.
