The magnetron outputs microwave energy. Do you mean the output voltage of the transformer? Many microwave oven transformers produce around 2KV at 0.5A

Before you dump it, if it is totally dead with no lights or anything, I would check to make sure that the fuse inside is okay. Make sure that the unit is unplugged and turn it around and take the screws out that hold the cover in place and then remove the cover. Look for where the power cord goes into the back of the microwave and follow the black wire from the cord to wherever it ends. It should end at either an inline fuse folder or at a small circuit board. If it goes to a board, your fuse will be mounted on that board. Remove the fuse and have it checked with a multimeter set for continuity. If it is bad, replace it with the same size fuse, you will find the size stamped on one of the silver bands at each end of the fuse. It will be either a 15 amp or 20 amp fuse usually. If you put in a new fuse and it blows right away, that means you have a short somewhere and you would need to have a repair tech look at it. Hope this helps!

Below is a common diagram for LG Microwave "High Side" components.

The component below the Monitor Interlock Switch is the Transformer. So, on the High Side of the transformer, you can see all the components.

Can you give me the model number of the unit that you are wanting information?

Assuming it's a vent on the microwave, there is a safety switch inside that activates the fan in the event of a fire or when the switch gets too hot. It would need to be accessed and changed if it won't shut off

A word of caution.......if you are familiar with microwave ovens, you know how to discharge the big capacitor in the seconday-circuit, and what can happen if you don`t! BE CAREFULL!

If your microwave oven runs normally, but won`t heat, suspect a primary-circuit fuse. Always replace with a fuse of the same voltage and amp rating. Also, check all electrical connections. Again, be sure to discharge the big capacitor so as to avoid dangerous shock.

Another common problem and simple check is the power diode. Simply check for continuity. If you get continuity in both directions with a volt-ohm meter, replace the power-diode.

If you have the proper meter, check the secondary-circuit capacitor. The capacitor can be a little pricey if it is bad.

If that doesn`t do it, the problem is likely the primary-secondary transformer. Unfortunately, the cost of the replacement part is probably more expensive than buying a new microwave oven.

The owners manual will not help you. Microwave ovens are simple. they either work or they don't. Yours is broken. If you are handy, check the three door switches first.

It is not cost effective to repair older microwaves. The newer ones today are more energy efficient, higher powered, and very affordable.

If the microwave runs for a few seconds and stops the touchpad might be at fault. This is not common. Generally speaking, if the microwave display is working and some of the buttons respond correctly but some don't, the problem is with the touchpad

The motor driving the turntable is faulty, using the oven like this will not damage the oven, the food will not be cooked evenly though. Open the door and rotate the food occasionally to ensure allround cooking, close door and continue cooking.
