Can't find my owner's manual ... how do you take the waffle plates off to convert to a grill?

Not certain if you're still interested in this, but there should be one spring clip on the top and one on the bottom which hold the plates in place. One is located on the bottom, near the right side of the hinge. This is the one on the bottom. Sorry about the image quality, but the limitation of 100K means I cannot get a much larger or clearer image.8_12_2012_8_25_07_pm.jpgThis is the spring clip which holds in the bottom plate. Note that it is near the hinge in the rear of the unit, right-hand side. This is the little clip in the front (there is one on the top and the bottom near the handles) which actually holds the front of the plate firm to the unit. This clip does not move, but it is necessary to get the plate under this clip, before securing the back with the spring clip.8_12_2012_8_26_52_pm.jpgI hope this helps. Note that you should be careful not to damage the non-stick surface when you work with the plates.

How do I reboot aCuisinart BKR-400C breadmaker?

sounds like you may have a broken wire in the cord. cut the end of the cord approx 4 inches from the "plug end" strip the wire and plug the bare wires back into the outlet and see if your unit works, if it does the plug end has a broken wire, if it doesnt then the unit is bad.

Getting an HHH error message

That is a temperature warning that is an automatic feature on bread machines. What the machine is telling you is that the oven chamber is still too hot from baking the last loaf. It does that to prevent you from starting another loaf and having that loaf fail due to the high heat killing the yeast. If you want to bake more than one loaf push the STOP button till it beeps, unplug the machine, raise the lid, and leave it open for no less than 20 minutes. It should work fine by then if not let cool off another 10 minutes. It will be cool enough by ½ an hour to start another one.

The 1st time I used The Griddler the top cover

Try this:--
  • Take some ammonia and rub the stained area with it.
  • Leave overnight in a plastic bag to contain the odor of ammonia.
  • Wipe the residue the next morning and wash the area of the grease stain thoroughly.
  • Burnt grease stains can be removed with a solution of vinegar and water. This solution must be boiled And then applied to the stained area by a spoon.pour this solution on the stained area or use cotton to tab on that area.
  • For tough stains, add baking soda which reacts with the stains to remove them from the burnt surface.
----------- Or try this:--
With a spatula, scrape off any stuck-on food on the top and bottom griddles.
Plug in the sandwich maker for a couple of minutes or until moderately hot, then unplug. This will make things easier to remove dirt and clean.
Grab a wet sponge and give the griddles a good scrub. The heat and water from the wet sponge creates a steam which will loosen stubborn food particles and grease. If the sponge gets too hot, use a pair of tongs or oven mitts to maneuver. Sandwich makers usually have a "non-stick" coating that keeps food from sticking onto the griddles and makes for easier cleanup.
-------------------
Some grease stains are very strong to get removed in first cleaning, in that case cleaning procedure has to be tried 3 to 4 times.---------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

I have a convection bread maker. I made one loaf

Cuisinart has many different bread machine models. Next time you ask a question, please include a model number. Thank you.

Here's my generic best advice for you dear:

Addressing Power-up/Start-up Issues:

1. Unplug the breadmaker.

2. Confirm the power source you're accessing is live using a blender, toaster, etc.

3. Plug the breadmaker in.

4. Confirm the breadmaker is receiving power:

    1. Some models have a built-in off/on toggle power switch. Turn it to the ON position.
    2. Some models confirm power by making and audible tone when plugged in.
    3. Some models have a colored light and/or a lighted display screen that lights up.
    4. Some models require you press and hold the Select button down until the unit powers up.
    5. Some models require you press and hold the Start button down until the unit powers up.
    6. Some models require you select a mode first by pressing the Select button.
    7. Some models require you press and hold the Stop button down until the unit powers up.

Were you able to confirm that your breadmaker is receiving power?

No. Sorry to hear that. Attempt to have the breadmaker serviced by a small appliance repair facility or simply discard it.

Yes, Fantastic! Now reboot the breadmaker's electronics by pressing and holding down the Stop button down until you receive a visible and/or audible confirmation, usually within 1 to 5 seconds. Note: Some models require you press and hold the Start button. Others require you press and hold the Select button.

Often the + and - Timer Delay buttons are pressed by mistake, delaying Start by up to 12 hours. If you suspect the Timer Delay feature has been engaged accidentally, you'll need to reboot the breadmaker's electronics.

All breadmaker use a belt and pulley system. If your breadmaker powers-up but the mixer won't turn when it's supposed to, your belt is probably broken. You'll need to disassemble the breadmaker to visually confirm.
