I have a D-Link G604T Modem/Router and ADSL light blinks after I have a phone call and wont log on to Internet.

sounds like you may not have filters correctly installed. You should have signal filters which will seperate the Internet signal from the standard phone signal. There should be one which looks like a cable splitter with a symbol for phone and modem... make sure these are connected the correct way. If you also have any other phones or fax machines connected, they should have a filter at the socket....

I have a D-link (Broadband VPN Router) that I want

Hello there,

You don't need a software for this one of the connection only requires an ethernet cable. What you need to do is to hook up the cable and then connect to the router locally. You may have to refer to the manual but usually you access 192.168.1.1 or something alike.

Good luck!

Limited or no connectivity problem.. from phil.

If you are receiving this error, you should run the Microsoft patch (KB884020) for it. Follow the instructions below to do this. Alternatively, you can download a zip file with the patch, registry file,.
1) Download the patch from Microsoft's site
2) Run the update to install it
3) Run this short Registry fix to complete the update. Type the following lines in Notepad and save the file as FixReg.reg on your desktop, then double click on it to install into your registry.
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\IPSec]
"AssumeUDPEncapsulationContextOnSendRule"=dword:00000002
4) Reboot your computer
If you experience the error message again, reboot your computer first. In most cases this will solve many connectivity issues that are not associated with this SP2 bug.

WHEN I DIRECT MY INTERNET

It means that the router is not configured yet. First, you have make sure that your internet wire is connected to the WAN port of your router and the computer should be connected to one of the LAN ports of your router.

Check the LEDs. Be sure that the LEDs for WAN and LAN where your computer is connected to is lit up or blinking (will depend on the brand and model number of the router).

Then you need to access the Web Utility of the router to set it up correctly. You need to refer to the manual of your router. Having a router does not mean that it will work immediately once you connect your internet or modem to it. It needs configuration.

You may also contact the tech support of your router (since the brand was not provided) for assistance

Thank you!

Want to connect aDI-604UP wired

Hello Richard.

For this, you have two types of connection
1. LAN_LAN (ethernet to ethernet) -->wireless router is acting as a switch
2. LAN_WAN (ethernet to internet)-->wireless router is acting as a wireless router

in this case, you need the LAN_LAN connection

Physical connection:
plug an ethernet cable from the ethernet port on the wired router and connect the other end of that cabl to the ethernet port on the wireless router

Configuration:
log-on to the setup page of the wireless router, do this while the wired router is turned off.
-open your internet browser, type 192.168.0.1 on the address bar. Then type the username & password for the router ( default admin as the username, password : ).
Under the setup tab, click manual configuration. Then click network settings, change the router ip address to 192.168.0.5 & disable the DHCP server. save the settings. Just personalize the wireless network.

Hope this helps.

Check you have the latest firmware and also check you haven't set idle time out (it should be 0 = always on)
Also see if there are other routers in the vicinity especially n-routers which will knock it offline so you should change the channels.

Internet connection always interupted

•Your Windows computers that are connected to the LAN ports indicate "Network Cable Unplugged." If you are using another computer or network device, you will get an indication that the Link has been momentarily broken. (Note: Wireless clients may not detect the interruption.)

•If you are using a DI-5xx/6xx/7xx device that supports NATLIST.TXT (not all do), you can get the uptime by using your browser to retrieve http://192.168.0.1/NATLIST.TXT. Look for the line that says "curr time : 369360" and divide that number by 60. The result is the number of minutes since the last reboot or power up.

•The DI-5xx/6xx/7xx router's log has been reset. Over time, the router's log should grow if the router is not rebooting. The last page will have the oldest entries. If your log is shorter than the maximum, the last entry will be the time your router last restarted. (The maximum log size is 20 pages long on many D-Link routers.)

•The lights flash in a particular pattern that you can learn. Go to Tools / Misc. On that page, one item should be "Reboot." Click that button as you are carefully watching the lights on the router. You can use this method to learn the pattern of the lights when the router is rebooting.
Thanks
With regards priya

Works ok wired, but have

Hi. I guess there is something wrong with youe router. Normal operation is you dont need to reboot the router just to keep the connection on you computer. Try to hard reset the router first and observed. If same issue occur then try to upgrade the firmware. If same thing will happen after doing all this. Then this could be a router problem. might be some of the chips inside the board is failing.

All the best!

May router is not working!! its stock!!!

What you can do here is to try resetting the router , to do that press and hold the small reset button on the router for 15 seconds while power is ON and then after that power off the router for 10 seconds and then if you still have the setup CD you can just run it and check if that will detect the router. But after doing the reset and reconfiguration on it and still not working router is already bad and may need replacement.

I think our router is broken again

Hi,

Try suggestions for you is to do the following:

1) First start with power cycle the router, unplug it and leave it unplugged for about 30 seconds then plug it back in and wait for all the lights to come on then see if the problem persists.

2) If the above suggestion doesn't work then try to reset your router to factory settings by taking an object with a small point and holding in the reset button on the back of the router for "atleast" 30 seconds then release the button wait for all the lights to come on and then see if the problem persists, if it still does then I would recommend purchasing a new router as the Repair cost would be High relevant to the cost of the new one.

Let me know, if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
