I cannot access my D-Link Wireless Router, i'm

In order to get your router back to the original settings, you must push in the reset button (usually on the back of the router) for somewhere between 10 and 30 seconds depending on the router. You may need a pin or something small to push in the button, because it can be recessed. Once you have reset the router, the username and password will be changed to the defaults, admin and password, respectively. One thing you must remember is that resetting the router will change all of the router settings back to the factory settings. This means you will lose all of the changes you made since you got the router. Make sure to write down any things you've changed, so you can change them back after the reset. Also, I recommend updating to the latest firmware after the reset.

Are you looking for the wireless network key or password ?
Is there any computer online using the router.
If not then you will need to connect the computer to the router.
If yes then you can open the router set up page on that computer.
router set up page is the page where you can check all the router settings.

I just purchased the D-Link wireless router.

first of all for using a router you need not install any cd...

try connecting your laptop to any one of the wired (lan) ports of router using an ethernet cable and check whether you are able to access or not...

if you are able to access then search for the wireless networks in range...

you will see linksys network... try connecting to it and access wireless internet...

if you are not able to access internet even through ethernet cable then you need to configure your router first...

to get an idea of how to configure your router have a look at this link...

"security key/pass phrase"

Yes, it will set it all back to factory defaults
to set the security again on the router Support site for D-Link is here http://www.dlink.com/corporate/worldwideoffices/?redirect=/default.aspx In principle: Connect your PC to the router with a cable to one of the LAN connections - Now you need to Log into the setup of the router - to do that open a web browser, use Internet explorer (some routers setup pages do not work correctly with other browsers) In the browser address bar - Enter (admin) for the user name and also for the password. Now you can goto the wireless section or secruity section and set the type of encyption to WEP, WPA, WPA-PSK etc and then make up your own password
On the PC Double click on the wireless connection in the system tray (bottom right hand side of screen) and then connect manually to your wireless signal - you will be asked for the password you set in the router.
Now you are connected.
You may need to remove any old wireless profiles you have on the PC/Laptops

you will then have to enter the wireless security key for any networks you connect to
