Why do my needles break only when doing reinforcing stitches?

This may be obvious but are you changing your needles frequently? A blunt or bent needle can cause this.

When transmitting a design from Amazing Designs Letter It, the LCD on my machine says transmitting design. However, the design never shows up. What am I doing wrong?

Check to make sure the design is not going into a folder. You may need to drill down a level or two to find it. That happens a lot with Bernina machines. ...

Thread is stuck in feed dog area

Yes it can. Lift the presser foot and take out the bobbin ,unscrew the needle plate (the silver plate under the presser foot) take out the bobbin case and all those threads should be easy to tease out from the area. Putting it all back the same way (You may need your instruction book if you are unfamiliar with these internal bits and pieces. While you have everything apart put a few drops of oil on all the moving parts and the machine will love you cheers Dot

I need to take apart my Brother SE 400 so I can replace the spool pin.

This is general information for all sewing machines. There are often hidden screws inside and clips that can not be seen. You can gently pry the machine apart and see where it is hanging up. Often the screws are reached from the side with a long Phillips screwdriver. You will need a flashlight to see them. Some models have access to the cover screws after removing a knob or the bottom plate.

Why Is my bobbin thread showing on material instead of my color thread ?

It's a tension problem. The upper tension is too tight and it's pulling the bobbin thread up through the fabric instead of giving the proper balanced stitch. This is also why it's bunching up the thread. One thing to check on any machine when upper thread problems appear is the thread guides and the needle. Needles can get dull, or have a burr in the eye, which can chafe the thread and cause a lot of problems. So put in a brand new needle and check every thread guide to see if there are any nicks or rough spots. If there are, replace the guide or use emery cloth or fine sandpaper to smooth a rough spot. Also be sure the bobbin case area is very clean, no lint build up under there. That can cause problems too. I don't know enough about how computer machines adjust the upper tension, but if you can change the tension setting, using the controls, then loosen it and see if that helps. One other thing that can sometimes help is to change the thread spool for a new one and rethread the machine. Simple to try, at least. You may need a repair visit if you can't adjust the upper tension and it's possible that whatever mechanism is used to control tension may need to be repaired or replaced.
