7. Once your done on the internet setting, go to your wireless connection settings and you can create a wireless network name or ssid, set a security by selecting wep, wpa, wpa2.
8. once all is set. save the settings and to check if your laptop can access the wireless network that you did, turn on the wireless switch of your laptop, once its on, it will show the wireless network icon on the lower right of the taskbar, right click it and select on view available network, the network name that u did should list, just select it and connect and it will ask for the password, just type the password and connect, you should be connected to the wireless network and have internet access..

I have a DI 614+ and enabled WEP 64 bit

If you already enable WEP on the router the wireless network is already secure , to double check use a wireless computer and if you view available wireless network it should display your wireless name with a lock on it and when you try to connect that should be asking you for the WEP key.....

Lost connection and can not access 192.168.0.1.

Try connecting to the router with a lan cable, It may be that the wireless settings have become corrupted.

Instead of using Wpa2 psk key the other 1 which you can use is WEP key.Whcih is easy to use and easily understood by mac computer and window's computer.

Hope this will resolve your issue

D-link DI-614 won't reset and the password stays same

Hi,
For problem that you have posted, you can try doing a hard reset on the device by taking a paperclip and perform a hard reset. With unit on, use a paperclip and hold down the reset button on the back of the unit for 10 seconds. Release it and the router will recycle, the lights
will blink, and then stabilize. After the router stabilizes, open your browser and enter
192.168.0.1 into the address window and hit the Enter key. When the
password dialog box appears, enter the username admin and leave the
password blank. Click OK.
Please let us know if that was helpful enough.
Good Luck & Thanks
Shiv.

How to reset

Between the ethernet * power ports is a tiny hole. Inside this hole is the reset button for this device (looks to fit perhaps a paperclip). Here is a link to the user manual for any further questions with this device : ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Gateway/di614%2B/Manual/DI-614%2B_manual_06292005.pdf If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/chris_796687fbded27b53

The router now has 6-8 computers on it at a time,

Generally a Router can handle 254 System/Computer at a time.

Try Rebooting and then Re-configuring the Router if the issue persists after rebooting the Router.

I cant reset my password

If you have forgotten your password the only option is to reset it to the factory default using the reset button on the back on the router (little pin hole between power socket and WAN socket).
  1. Leave the power on, do not disconnect the power
  2. Press the reset button and hold (use a paperclip)
  3. Keep the button pressed for 10 seconds
  4. Release the button
The router will now reboot itself and will be reset to factory defaults which are username: admin / Password: Blank (ie. no password)

Doesn't turn on.

You can try a different power outlet and power cord to easily isolate the problem. If the same problem exist, it could be a faulty unit.

I have started to not be able to connect two

hello,
i belive i know what is happening
what is happeing is that ur router is giving you the same IP address to both your computers this happens alot when you have a network,
what you would have to do is call the manufature of that device the one giving the wireless signal then tell them that your the router is giving the same ip´s to both PC´s or laptops and they would force the ip´s depending on the settings that you would be using at this time
