See page 17 of the ONLINE USER'S MANUAL for detailed instructions on how to reset the unit to default settings. Basically it says:

Push the MENU button, select admin and enter 3477 for the password, then press OK to confirm.
Use the arrow keys to navigate to UTILITIES, then press ENTER.
Then navigate to RESTOREPARA and press ENTER.
Then select OK to confirm and the system will automatically reboot.

Communication failure will clear itself once your phone lines are restored. Try arming your system and opening a door to set the alarm off, a forced signal will usually clear a communication failure. As far as parts, you can get them pretty cheaply from a local Alarm Company or dealer. Give them a call, most local, small dealers are fair and helpful. Easy to install yourself as well.

Your alarm system has two power sources, a power transformer that is plugged into an electrical outlet and a backup battery that is located within the control panel box. If the battery is over five years old you will need to replace it. Open the box and you you will see the battery with a set of wires attached to it. Pull the wires off of the battery and take it to a local battery warehouse supply store. They will match it up with a new one. Plug the new battery into the system and your system should restore itself back to normal.

locally if you have a battery plus store they carry alot of differnt batteries, or the alarm co. that installed it, or online you can find them, and worse case is locating the manufacturer is trying to get from them.

Everything sounds ok. Try to add more port in your port forwarding. Actually, even if you don't forward port 80, by default its already open because that is for internet access. Research more port that your dvmre is using. You may want to isolate the problem by connecting your dvmre directly to the modem and check if it works there. If not, maybe your ISP is blocking some port the your dvmre is using.

Nice question. Do you have a specific concern, or an area to protect? I am an expert by experience.

Like Steve stated. I would add to use a rust-converting primer (the type that converts surface rust into an invert primer, stopping all future rusting).

As this is only occurring in the left corner, I'd try to determine exactly where the water is coming from (that's causing the damage). I suppose it could be condensation if the unit is over ten years old, but it also possible that a connection slightly loose or worn.

It may have this silent option in either choice for volume or melody. My doorbell has numbered buttons that need to be pressed together with the button to open the door, in order to access these functions. Another thought is that a battery needs to be replaced.

Question edited for clarity. Question moved from Photo Cameras to Home Security Category. I would caution hiding transformers under a bed because they can get hot, overheat fail and cause a fire. You can certainly use an extension power bar with a a circuit overload breaker in it, but move it somewhere other than under the bed. Presume this is a Security Camera system as opposed to a Sony HandyCam, so I moved it to the Home Security category from 'Power Computers'. The system has lost the feed to the camera because the power flicker was a power disconnect. You should have it on a backup UPS backup. You need to reinstall the camera feeds.
