If you can see the infrared signal on the remote with a camera, the issue is most likely not the remote. That unit is about 8 years old and has most likely gone to dvr graveyard. You cannot get parts for it that would be easy to change.

576p means 576 lines, progressive scan. 576 is number of visible lines on the UK system (and other nominally 625 line countries). The normal transmission system for these countries is 576i (interlaced scan), so I suspect that you are only seeing the 576p indication because there are no channels, and your TV is interpreting this as progressive scan.

The reason for no channels may be a poor signal from the aerial, or that the device (Humax or TV) has not been tuned. If you have power-saving enabled on the Humax, it will not pass on the aerial signal to the TV when the Humax is in standby. If this is the case, either turn power-saving off, or use a splitter to feed the aerial separately to the TV and Humax.

If you have added padding to the start and/or end of the recordings, this will disable series record.

In the Record Menu, set Start and End times to On Time if you want to use Series Record.

First thing to try is the batteries in the remote. Use new fresh ones, the second this is to see if it is a radio or light controlled remote. If it is radio then you have something causing interference. If it is light control then the remote is probably bad. There are parts in the remote that don't survive falls in some cases

No, it can only record from its own tuners via an aerial, not from a scart connection..

Try a factory reset. If that doesn't fix it, it may need some PSU capacitors replacing.

Can you replay previous recordings?

I've got one. Does exactly the same thing. It usually happens within the first, say, 10 hours of recorded material. This is the most used part of the hard drive disc. We have 5-9 hours of programs we intend to keep so we end up re-recording over the next part of the disc repeatedly. This wears that part down. What I did was keep 2-3 hours of stuff in that zone and carried on recording and deleting as usual, as I still do. I'm watching it right now. But if I erase past the break 'zone', the recordings 'jump'. It has a big memory and shouldn't be a problem. So..........fill with programs to half the disc and record over the lesser used part of the disc.....it works for me. I'd be interested in hearing how you get on. Good luck Red.

Depending on its age, this model is known to need its PSU capacitors replacing eventually. This should not be an expensive job.

It means that 'Antenna Power' in the Installation menu is switched on when it should be off. This is only required when sending power to a mast-head amplifier.

From the Programme Guide select the programme you want and press OK. Then select the 'Record the Series' option. Note that this option will not appear for one-off programmes such as films.

You are going to need to have your aerial adjusted, it's getting conflicting signals. I have a Humax in London, not until recently was this sorted out by repositioning the aerial to the strongest signal.
