Can I get my Finepix software to run on Windows 8?

Consider NOT using the FinePix software. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you an use any photo cataloging program such as Windows Photo Gallery or Picasa.

Is there a free way of recovering deleted/formatted photos on memory card?

If you haven't done anything to the card since you deleted/formatted, then you may be able to recover at least some of the pictures. Do a Google search for "data recovery software" and select a program for your computer and operating system. Put the card into a card reader attached to your computer and run the program.

Write protected

SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

How do I display date and time on my printed pics for my fujifilm AX300.

The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.
