Freezer temp is ok ref.temp too hot. fan doesn't seem to be operating

That model is twin cooling. Are you having any error codes on the display? Most models will shut off the fan when you open the door. If there are no error codes the thermistor could be out of range telling the fan not to run. You could try putting the refrigerator into diagnostic mode. You can look that up or reply I could tell you how to do it.

Where is reset button on samsung RF217ACRS

There is no reset button per se on the refrigerator. Since this model doesn't come with a water or air filter there is nothing to reset. If there is a problem with the operation you could just unplug the unit for 60 seconds and then plug it back in.

For the last 4 months water has collected in and under produce bins where is freezes if not mopped up. I've tried pulling items away from shelf vents. Could a drain be clogged?

Freezer /fridge water/ice in fridge and or freezer Usually due to CONDENSATION due to bad door seals or a plugged evaporator drain line? Can use a soft flexable tubing and very hot water to clean it out. Bad door seals usually need replacement, but u can use a blow dryer and something to pry it closer to the door wall while blowing hot air on to it. To create a seal, to test for bad door seals place a dollar bill in between the door and wall of fridge where it closes. Then slide out the dollar bill with door closed. It should offer some resistance and not be easy to pull out. Most all fridges have a drain. Look inside your fridge for a "V" shaped channel with a small hole. This hole leads to a tube and a small pan which sits on top of your refrigerator's compressor. The defrost cycle causes water to run into the channel, down the tube, and then it generally evaporates with the heat of the hot condenser/compressor. However, if that tube is clogged with food crumbs, particles , debris etc, you will have to clear it to get back to a normal mode of operation. A toothpick, pipecleaner, straw or a cotton bud can often do the trick. Even a frost free freezer will still ice up at times in the areas away from the heated defrost area and the drain line can freeze. This icing causes the pipe work to the compressor to ice over or sweat and cause a puddle. Or if the drainage has frozen over, it will need to be de-iced. ( usually the line is under the freezer bottom plate covering. Towards the back of the unit) And there is another inside the fridge area also. Give the freezer a good overnight defrost until it's totally clear of ice in addition to making sure the drain is clear to the pan at the back and then restart the freezer.

How do I fix a refrigerator that won't cool?

if you are sure the evap fans are running (the ones inside) then only 2 things left.... 1- there is ice build up around the evaporators blocking air flow..... 2- the unit is out of freon.... I really suspect that there is ice around evap, samsung's are not known for having freon leaks.....I would unplug unit for 24-48 hours, then remove ff shelving, then take 2 screws out,(located on the bottom left and right of the evap cover and the one that is behind a plastic plug located in the center about 2/3 of the way to the top of the cover....once you remove the screws, grasp the cover on the bottom right corner and gently pull out to remove cover, being careful not to break the foam that channels air..... once removed check to see where the ice is left.... usually in the top right corner, if so replace the sensor located there... Freezer and icemaker not working. What do I do?

so, so, so, many things could be wrong. I am a semi-retired appliance man of over 30 yrs. All anyone can say without looking at it is start from square one. You must have knowledge of how to read a wiring schematic to properly diagnose. My starting place would be is the compressor even running? If not, why not? see what I mean? With a problem that most likely will require the use of a volt/ohm meter and the knowledge to troubleshoot like yours a repair man is a must. Maybe a wire is not getting good connection all the way to a leak in the system and anything in between. Sorry, but sometimes that repairman is your only option and this sounds like one of those times.

The "rubber covering" on my fridge wheels is scuffed off and the new wheels they sent me don't have the rubber covering. How do I replace this covering?

Hello Jim; My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician. Refrigerator manufacturers do not field test their designs before putting them on the market. They make their design changes based on customer complaints and field technicians doing repairs under warrantee. Now, neither your front or rear wheels have a rubber covering. I am not surprised. A refrigerator is a lot of weight to move even on hard rubber wheels. Current front wheels: 25394912-yntpumo15s45jnvskazrtysi-4-0.jpg The rear casters are hard to install. They have a history of cracking and falling apart and are difficult to replace. LG has a history of high service calls.

Have a Samsung RF217ACRS refrigerator that is collecting water in the left bin? I do have an ice maker.

the defrost drain is stopped up...the simplest way to start is to remove food, unplug frig and open both doors for 24 hrs. a fan blowing into ref will help this process. after 24 hrs remove the shelving so you can get to the back panel... there will be 3 screws 1 on the bottom left and 1 on the bottom right corners, the 3rd is located about 2/3 of the way up the panel in the center. this screw has a square plug covering it.. after screw removal "pop" the cover being careful of the wiring at the top, after unplugging the 2 plugs set panel to the side out of the way.... now you are looking at the evaporator, just under the evap you should see a hole, this is the defrost drain.. if there is any ice in the trough remove it, with hot water if need be. once the drain is open pour 2-3 glasses of hot water down the drain to flush out.. if water wont pour through drain, I use air pressure to clear drain, if u don't have an air tank you can use a hose that you blow through to clear drain.......I hope this helps.......Ken

Samsung rf217acrs frost in freezer

I have the same samsung with the same problem. I had a repair company come out. What is happening is you are not opening the freezer door correctly and not pulling the tray out all the way. It is a design problem with the door. You must pull it out from the center of the bar and pull it out all the way for it to align correctly and then the door will close correctly. I was getting frost on the right side roller and top area if I don't do it correctly. There is nothing that can be done I am told. You must not pull from the side of the handle. It works fine now. Try this and see if it helps.

Hi I have a Samsung fridge model DA99-01221D . My freezer is cooling well but fridge is not cooling at all please help

Check the Control Settings: Ensure that the temperature settings for both the fridge and freezer compartments are appropriately configured. Sometimes incorrect settings can lead to cooling problems. Make sure the fridge is not in demo mode. If it is, disable demo mode by referring to your user manual. Inspect the Door Seals: Damaged or worn-out door seals can cause cold air to leak out, resulting in insufficient cooling in the fridge compartment. Inspect the door seals for any cracks, tears, or gaps. If you find any issues, consider replacing the door seals. Evaporator Coil and Fan Check: The evaporator coils in the fridge play a crucial role in cooling. If they are frozen or malfunctioning, it can affect cooling. Similarly, check if the fan responsible for distributing cold air inside the fridge is working correctly. Reset the Refrigerator: Sometimes a simple reset can resolve cooling issues. Unplug the fridge from the power source for a few minutes, then plug it back in. Observe if there's any improvement in cooling after the reset. Compressor Overheating: You mentioned that the compressor is very hot. An overheated compressor can impact cooling. Allow the compressor to cool down completely before switching the fridge back on.
