i have tried holdng the reset button down for 30+ seconds, i have unplugged the power for over a min.....and yet i still cant access it.....i need help please, is there another way to access this router i have looked on google but no luck to a solution
Hi
Open command prompt and do ipconfig and make sure that you are getting a valid IP address .
Default gateway should be 192.168.2.1.and if you are not getting valid ip address then check if your ip is assigned manually under TCP/IP properties .It should be obatin an ip address automatically .
Also make sure that modem is connected to modem port .
Also try to disable all firewall from your computer
If you are getting valid ip address and then try to ping 192.168.2.1 in command prompt .check if your getting any replies .If your are getting replies then it could be issue with your Internet explorer settings
Let me know if it doesn't work .Feel free to send me a mail [email protected]

So I've got my broadband connection set up and Xbox live is working at last. However, when my friends try to party up with me, it doesn't work. Tested connection, points towards a strict NAT. So I need an open NAT and after countless hours searching, I've tried portforwarding and dropping firewalls but to no avail.
It's a Thomson/Spedtouch TG585 v7 router, my PC connects to it wirelessly and my 360 connects by LAN to the PC. PC uses XP.
Any questions/things I've not added that I need to.... just ask!
Thanks
First, try adding a wireless card to the Xbox, run the wireless off of the router OR if you have multiple connections (broadband, should be an "In" port, and several "Out" ports) Try connecting your PC and you Xbox through the "Out" ports, with the cable modem cord hooked into the "In" port...

how can I lock my belkin 54g router
1. Type http://1912.168.2.1 in your browser This gets you into the router's configuration
2.Look for the tab that says wireless settings or something similar
3. Look for security tab
4. Secure the router using one of the security schemes provided...whatever you use remember and write it down somewhere or you will have to reset your router if you forget your password and want to make changes to the router's configuration.

i need the security code to connect my laptop to my router
You will need to check the wireless settings of the router .
Is there any computer connected to the router with the Ethernet cable?
If not then connect 1 computer to the router and open the router set up page. Once you open the router set up page, you will be able to find the wireless network key.
Use that password to connect to the wireless network
