You didn't say what TV you have so my response is somewhat generalized. This is most often caused by the wrong code on the universal remote. Most things work, but not all. Sometimes just one button will not work correctly or at all. Try the other codes that are listed for your brand. If no luck, try the scan feature as many TV's are built by a manufacturer that's not the one on the front of the set.
